Every issue of our INSIDE magazine brings you the testimony of people who find running regularly an important cornerstone for some aspects of their lives. And that, for this very reason, become examples that can and should be followed. This time, we bring you the example of one of our runners, Catarina Coito, that represents perfectly the feeling we find in many women who manage to get time and motivation to run regularly, despite their demanding professional, family, and personal lives. Another great example!

Throughout the 15 editions of our INSIDE Running as a lifestyle magazine, we have always tried to keep a certain structural coherence, which has allowed us to focus on aspects of broad significance for all those who enjoy running. Eight core points that range from art to interviews, technical articles, and reflections on training that make sure each edition remains current and relevant, thanks to many timeless contents: Art; Photography; Testimonial; Interview; Legends, Workouts, Run4excellence and Training. The latest edition maintains this structure, to which it adds outstanding new content.

To keep a leading sports performance throughout a 30-year career is not for everyone. Licínio Pimentel achieved this with incredible regularity and impressive results: 3 times Portuguese cross vice-champion; 14 consecutive years in the top 10 and 9 times in the top 5 of Portuguese national cross! Despite several participations in World and European Championships, he didn't enjoy an outstanding international career. Nevertheless, the real highlight of his entire career has always been his humility and his way of being in sports. Easy going, friendly and supportive, always close to the younger, and willing to share important insights on how to live our sport, LICÍNIO PIMENTEL ends up standing out largely because of his conduct. In the latest edition of INSIDE Running as a lifestyle, we cover a large part of his sporting career, which has marked his personality, as well as how important his path proved for running in Portugal. Something we called "the right mindset to enjoy a career of over 30 years".

Those who are already familiar with INSIDE Running as a Lifestyle know how much we care about the visual side of our magazine, as well as about our challenges to photographers and fine artists to develop original work with a focus on running or sports training. In our last edition, we had the participation of Teresa Ruivo, who presented us with excellent works about running. In fact, we selected one as the cover of this 15th edition. A must-see different way to look at running. Available at insiderunning.net.

Adharanand Finn is the author of three extremely influential books among runners: “Running with the Kenyans” (2012), “The Way of the Runner” (2015), and “The Rise of the Ultra Runners” (2019). “Running with the Kenyans” was the Sunday Times Sports Book of the Year. His passion for running seeps through the pages of his books, making it easier to showcase some key aspects of the life of a runner.
Having said that, it is with great pleasure that we present an interview with the author, who shares with us his take on topics as specific as the reasons behind the supremacy of Kenyan or even Japanese runners. Adharanand Finn has had close contact with both realities, visiting and living with Kenyan and Japanese athletes, and gives us some first-hand perspectives that are well worth knowing.

Since the beginning of our editorial project, we have wanted to place photography, design, and art at the highest possible level. We have had different artists who, when challenged to develop works related to the running, created incredible pieces that gave a unique image to running and its protagonists. In this edition, we have a set of different works of enormous creativity, developed by Erick Centeno, Peruvian artist, who in a simple and fluid way, created drawings whose dynamism and sense of movement make them unforgettable. A set of works worth seeing in this new edition of INSIDE.

INSIDE RUNNING AS A LIFESTYLE
When editing a running magazine we attempted to go further in what is the usual content. In addition to articles that reflect very particular training aspects with the participation of some of the best physiologists, nutritionists or coaches in the world, we also tried to achieve high balance with the graphic part of the magazine, with the quality of the papers, printing and photography. From the beginning the idea was to dignify running and its protagonists and try to include an artistic element connected with it. During these 12 editions we challenged artists with various sensibilities and techniques to get involved with this project, linking them to a very unlikely theme for almost everyone: Running! The result couldn't be better! We gathered incredible works, promoted artists of great quality, some of them very young and in the early stages of their careers, and assisted the sale of these works (tuningyourrunning.com) in order to collaborate with their artistic path. In each of the 12 editions you can see something completely original, with notable works by:
- Vincent Dogna
- Marta Vilarinho Freitas
- Frederico Elias
- Adão Silva
- Pedro Codeço
- Gustavo Baía
- Teresa Zawitkowska
It's true. Inside Running as a Lifestyle magazine is way more than just running! Thank you all and please don't forget that the viability and stability of an independent project with these characteristics is only possible thanks to your support: insiderunning.net
