✨Free community event on Thursday 25th June with Harmony Slater 💫

« Carry the Light : Yoga Yoga as a Technology for an Overwhelming World ».
We live in a world running at a frequency most of us weren’t built to sustain. In this free community talk, Harmony Slater - Certified Ashtanga teacher with 25+ years of practice - explores yoga as a technology for our times: how breath, body, and awareness work together to build a container strong enough to carry more light.
From the science of the vagus nerve to the philosophy of the subtle body, discover why an ancient practice may be the most relevant tool we have for navigating an overwhelming world.

📆 At 19h30 Ágora Mindful Yoga & Meditation’s Shala. Everyone is invited to join !
This event is free but please book a spot on Bsport

🪷Establishing a Self Practice

We all carry an image of what our practice should look like. How long it should be, when it should happen, what it should feel like, where it should take us. We set goals, build routines, and invest in a vision of steady, uninterrupted progress.
Then life gets in the way. Or so it seems. Illness arrives, a child is born, a loss reshapes everything, a season of exhaustion changes all the rules.

But what if life is not getting in the way? What if these moments are the practice, asking us to face, accept, and embrace the very thing we study on the mat: impermanence.
The difficulties you are moving through today will eventually shift into something else. And equally, the beautiful sensations, the clarity, the breakthroughs you have tasted in your practice, these too will fade and transform. As nothing ever stays fixed. Recognising this, with honesty and gentleness, is perhaps one of the deepest forms of practice there is.

This weekend, we have two events to help you build a sustainable Self-Practice :

🤸‍♂️On the Yoga side: on June 20th, «The Alchemy of Ashtanga Yoga», a half-day workshop dedicated to Establishing a self-practice. 8h30-12h30.
🧘On the Lisbon Buddhist Centre side: the first module of our week-long curriculum on «Mindfulness, Meditation and Buddhism » begins again this month : «Meditation for beginners’ Mind», June 20th to July 11th. Every Saturday 11h30-13h30.

Booking on bsport, still a few free spots :)

If you live in Lisbon, you may have witnessed the magical blooming of the jacaranda trees over recent days. 🌸 Their vibrant purple canopies transform the city’s streets, offering a breathtaking display of beauty. Yet almost as soon as they appear, they begin to fade. Within days, the blossoms fall and scatter across the pavements, already returning to the earth.
This is impermanence. The simple and unavoidable truth that all things arise, change, and pass away. It is one of the most fundamental teachings in both Yoga and Buddhist philosophy, and perhaps one of the most radical things we can learn to truly accept.
Because although impermanence is everywhere, we often resist it. We long for stability, for things to stay as they are when they are good, for life to follow the plans we make.
This June, through our offerings at Ágora Mindful Yoga & Meditation and the , we want to explore what it might feel like to stop resisting, and instead learn to move with the nature of change itself. To meet life as it unfolds with a little more openness, curiosity, and ease. :)

Join us for practice and check Bsport and our website for special classes and workshops coming up in June !

🪷From Separation to Freedom
One of the central ideas in yoga is that the sense of separateness lies at the root of suffering, dukkha.
We often feel isolated, as though we have to manage everything alone. But this separateness is, in part, a construction of the mind.
Through practice, we begin to question it. We start to see how everything is connected, constantly influencing everything else. Moving from separation toward connection, there lies one of the beautiful teaching that Yoga has for us🌟

🙏Join us for practice !
Morning Ashtanga Mysore-style every day from Monday to Saturday - Guided Primary Series every Sunday

🪷Sangha
Practicing together makes interconnectedness tangible.
So another essential aspect of this month’s theme is Sangha: community.

In the Buddhist tradition, Sangha is one of the Three Jewels, alongside the Buddha (representing our potential for awakening), and the Dharma (the teachings and path of practice). Sangha is not simply a “nice extra” around the practice. It is considered a refuge: something we can genuinely lean into and be supported by.

When we practise together, we feel this directly.
The shared energy, the encouragement of others’ presence, the reminder that we are not moving through life alone.
This becomes especially meaningful in moments of difficulty, both personal and collective. Practice is not about self-improvement unfolding in isolation, each in our own corner. Yoga and meditation can help us remember our interdependence, and that what connects us is much deeper than what divides us.
To practise together is also to learn how to listen, to care, and to stay present with one another.
Keep practicing with an open heart 🧡

💫We host regular meditations in our as well as Week-long Courses on Buddhism, Mindfulness and Meditation, for all level of experience. Check the IG page to know more!

We keep following the thread of Yoga as a practice of relationship this month :
Not only with the body or the breath, but with the subtle movement of life itself. With attention, with our sensations, with the mind as it shifts and settles.
Relationships with others, with our surroundings, with the changing texture of each day.

In the Yoga Sutras, this meeting is reflected through Purusha (awareness) and Prakriti (nature), two forces continuously shaping our experience.
The Yoga practice can be our way of listening to that relationship more closely, and by doing so, perhaps softening a little the illusion of separateness.

Let’s come together for practice and growth 🧡🌱
