Reveries of Collective Walkers (Basel)

A warm thank you to everyone who joined us at Gellertpark for the opening of SIBYLLA and for Uriel Orlow’s performance in the property of Christoph Merian Shiftung at the Freie Musikschule Basel.

Reveries of Collective Walkers (Basel)

We are excited to invite you to SIBYLLA, a group exhibition presented by dialogue × Freie Musikschule Basel at Gellertgut Park, as part of the Art Basel VIP Programme.

Taking its name from Maria Sibylla Merian, the pioneering female botanist whose life and work are deeply connected to Basel, SIBYLLA invokes the figure of the sibyl as both scientist and oracle.

The performance by Uriel Orlow unfolds in parallel with his presentation at the Giardini of La Biennale di Venezia. Developed in collaboration with Maria João Pires and Martin Masan, it takes place in the garden, where musicians perform with and for plants, activating a subtle dialogue between human and more-than-human forms of listening.

Performance / Music Curators

Studio Pianpian He and Max Harvey

ss space space is delighted to announce its inaugural guest project, ‘An Art Fair Booth Outside of an Art Fair’. Curated by I Chien Tang in collaboration with Lisbon-based contemporary gallery dialogue, the exhibition brings together works by Iberian artists Marta Barrenechea and Priscila Fernandes.

Here, an art fair booth is displaced within an artist-run space. By stripping back its structural and political nature, the project loosens the inherent hierarchies and power dynamics of the exhibition format, allowing viewers to become more attuned to their own perception and consciousness.

Marta Barrenechea translates her environmental observations into threadwork. Everyday motifs manifest through embroidery, where an uneven ‘visual tactility’ evokes an embodied connection with the fabric. Meanwhile, Priscila Fernandes’ ‘News Stand’ series captures collective emotions in the face of current events through encaustic and ink. Her work interrogates our media awareness, prompting a deeper reflection on ethics and action. Ultimately, both artists act as conduits between the self and the other, articulating the experience of being ‘present’ in the here and now.

The exhibition is accompanied by a publication featuring essays by , published by and designed by .

ARCO Lisboa + El Corte Inglês

Home Sweet Home

HUGO DE ALMEIDA PINHO
DIOGO BOLOTA

Conceived for dialogue’s presentation in Window 5 of El Corte Inglés during ARCOlisboa 2026, and inspired by Philosophy of the Home by Emanuele Coccia, Home Sweet Home departs from the idea of the home as a metaphysical space that shapes our existence, where human beings, objects, and emotions intertwine.

The domestic space emerges as a theatre of shadows, a two-dimensional setting where five elements — somewhere between tools, symbols, partitions, accessories, and props — dissolve into one another, creating a shared identity between themselves and those who observe them.

Invoking the imaginary world of Jacques Tati, with its poetic visual humour, attention to detail, and subtle satire of modernity, the exhibition brings together five works by Hugo de Almeida Pinho, Diogo Bolota, and José Taborda.

Our thanks to the artists, the ARCOlisboa team, and El Corte Inglés for this opportunity.

URIEL ORLOW
The Fairest Heritage, 2016–2018
Single-channel video, 5’22’’
