Last week, we celebrated the opening of the second Breaking the Patterns exhibition in Lisbon, a beautiful culmination of three months of creativity, collaboration, and cross-cultural exchange.

Once again, we had the pleasure of hosting 6 amazing artist from Ireland who, alongside 6 equally amazing local artists, worked to explore new ideas, develop their practice and bring a powerful collective exhibition to life.

Today, we say goodbye to our Irish participants as they head home but they leave behind new friendships, shared experiences, and a part of themselves in the works they created.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors until May 3rd, so there’s still time to come by and experience the work for yourself!

We’re excited to kick off the second round of Breaking the Patterns in Lisbon! 🎉
After a successful first round, we’re welcoming 6 new artists from Ireland, who will collaborate with 6 amazing local artists to create another inspiring exhibition.

This week, the new group has settled into Lisbon, met their fellow participants, and started exploring the theme of Breaking the Patterns. Over the next few months, they’ll work together to craft unique artworks and prepare for an exciting showcase that celebrates creativity and cultural exchange.

🌍✨ And that’s a wrap! We’re thrilled to announce the successful completion of the INTERCAMBIO + VET project! 🎉 Over the past two years, we've connected language learning with vocational training across 6 EU countries, bringing together learners, professionals, and businesses from sectors like Ecology, Social Economy, Digital Media, and more.

Thanks to everyone who participated, contributed, and supported us along the way! Together, we created innovative learning tools, launched an app for language exchange, and empowered hundreds of learners to build language skills tailored to their professions.

This project may be ending, but the impact will continue to grow within our community and beyond. Stay tuned as we keep using and sharing these resources to build a more connected, multilingual future! 🌎

Six amazing artists from Ireland have officially landed in Lisbon! After an exciting first week exploring the city, getting to know their new work studio and meeting all the great people they'll be working with, they’ve settled in and are ready to embark on an artistic adventure🎨
For the next 3 months, they’ll be collaborating with local artists and galleries, pushing boundaries - breaking patterns -, and creating something truly unique, while developing their skills.
Their journey with Breaking the Patterns starts now! Stay tuned for their creative process as we prepare for an epic collective exhibition! ✨✨

O NowHere abre hoje a convocatória Breaking the Patterns para artistas residentes na região metropolitana de Lisboa, com inscrições abertas até o dia 15 de agosto.

Com duração de três meses - 13 de setembro a 13 de dezembro de 2024 - a primeira edição do projeto oferece espaço de trabalho, acompanhamento curatorial e apoio de produção para artistas em início de carreira. Os trabalhos resultantes serão apresentados em exposição na galeria do NowHere em dezembro de 2024.

Serão selecionados/as 6 artistas locais que se juntarão a 6 artistas vindos da Irlanda.

Oferecemos:
- espaço de estúdio compartilhado próximo à estação de Cacilhas (Almada)
- ajuda de custo de 250€/artista para todo o período de residência para auxiliar nos custos de deslocamento e produção dos trabalhos
- orientação artística, curatorial e de produção feita pela equipa do NowHere
- um dos trabalhos apresentados em Lisboa será selecionado para participar da exposição final do projeto na Irlanda, com presença do/da artista

Buscamos:
- artistas em início de trajetória, com experiência de até 3 anos
- interlocução bilíngue (espera-se alguma fluência da língua inglesa)
- disponibilidade para encontros presenciais com a equipa e demais participantes pelo menos uma vez por semana (no restante do tempo, o uso do estúdio poderá ser feito no horário que for mais conveniente ao/à participante)
- a preferência será dada a pessoas pertencentes a grupos de maior fragilidade social

As inscrições podem ser feitas até 15 de agosto através de link na bio do perfil do NowHere. Após esse período, os/as pré selecionados/as serão convidados/as para entrevistas online.
