I am deeply honoured and grateful to Miss World for this recognition as part of the 75th anniversary of Miss World.

This platform was never just a moment in time for me it was a responsibility that shaped the rest of my life. The work we did through the Just Because Foundation, helping establish the first paediatric specialty unit in the English-speaking Caribbean for children with cancer, taught me something I still carry today:
Purpose doesn't expire when the crown comes off, and it isn't reserved for titles or platforms.
The beauty of purpose is available to everyone.
What I've come to understand over the years is that impact isn't measured only by scale or visibility.

Sometimes it lives in the quiet, unseen moments, in the little ways 🌹 where we show up for someone without recognition or applause.
Those moments matter deeply to the lives they touch.
After a season devoted to motherhood, I'm also looking forward to making smaller steps meaningful again with intention, humility, and heart.

To my fellow Miss World women, past and present and to everyone reading this consider this a gentle invitation.

2026 and beyond can be a season of re-igniting the causes that first moved our hearts, whether through big initiatives or small steps, public or private. It all matters.

If you've ever wondered whether your contribution still makes a difference it does.
If you've been waiting for the "right time" to begin again this may be it.

Purpose endures for a lifetime.
Let's keep showing up.

Thank you Miss World especially CBE for all you’ve done and continue to do.

Ten years ago, motherhood began for me.
This time, it feels different.

More intentional.
More aware of how fast it all moves.

Baby days become preteens in the blink of an eye.
And suddenly you understand that every age, every stage, is fleeting.

This year with my baby girl has been a quiet lesson in presence
in lifting her up, again and again, and really being there for each moment as it passes.

Not just with our children,
but with ourselves too.

Because 30 becomes 40 just as quickly.
And life isn’t waiting.

So I’m choosing to be here.
To love deeply.
To fall in love again and again
with every season.

“Lean into love, it will be your living legacy.”

Today’s Sunday Express feature touches just the surface of a much deeper journey a journey through motherhood, healing, advocacy, and the quiet courage it takes to keep showing up.

I wrote these words for every mother navigating love, loss, and purpose. For the ones who’ve survived, the ones still healing, the ones holding their babies and the ones holding memories instead.

From postpartum complications to spiritual rebirth, from fear to fierce advocacy… I hope these reflections meet you exactly where you are.

To every kind of mother: I see you. You are not alone.
Happy Mother’s Day.

With love,
Gabrielle

One of the things that has filled me with the most hope this morning is the news that the Children’s Hospital may finally reopen.

It’s heartbreaking when spaces meant to heal and protect our children are left unused… and seeing the possibility of that facility opening its doors again feels like a huge win not just for families, but for the future of Trinidad and Tobago as a whole.

As a parents, nothing matters more to me than ensuring every child has access to the care they need to grow, to thrive, to dream.

Let’s keep pushing for a country where our children are not just seen, but prioritized and protected.

This is what beauty with a purpose looks like standing for the health, hope, and future of our children.

This moment matters.
