So, my friends, now it’s METAL. Armed with nothing but guitar, drums and electronics (no bass), the trio lets darkness descend completely over the packed venue, aptly named The Abyss. Mariana Faísca (vocals, electronics) is a top-tier frontwoman, and the band’s down-tuned sludge/doom, instead of dragging the mood down, does exactly the opposite — more than anything else, I feel happy and energized by this release. I hope that was the intention!”

To everyone who nearly filled the in Porto, and to the wonderful crowd that sold out the in Lisbon, our sincere thank you. It was truly moving to see so many of you arriving early to be with us from the very first note.

We’re pleased to announce that Music in Low Frequencies have joined the Utter Silence booking roster.


Formed in 2012 in Braga, Portugal, the band creates a sound rooted in sludge and doom metal, with influences of death and post-metal. Their music blends gloom-filled melodies with heavy, oppressive riffs, building dark and immersive atmospheres.

After their debut Sowing the Seed (2014), they returned in late 2023 with Catharsis, released through Raging Planet Records. The album was well-received by critics and listeners alike, praised for its depth and intensity.

We look forward to working with Music in Low Frequencies on upcoming shows and tours.
