Endometriosis isn’t just a “period condition.”

It’s the pain people don’t see.
The exhaustion that never really goes away.
The bloating that makes you look months pregnant.
The anxiety before going to the toilet because you know it might hurt.

For many of us, it affects every part of life — work, relationships, energy, digestion, and mental health.

During Endometriosis Awareness Month, I’m sharing a glimpse into the realities that often get dismissed as “just bad periods.”

Lately I’ve been learning more about histamine and how it interacts with endometriosis.

It made me realise some of the things I’ve experienced — flushing, rashes and flu like symptoms, feeling “allergic” to everything — might not just be stress.

Histamine plays a role in inflammation and oestrogen regulation, which are both key in endometriosis.

I’m still learning, but it’s comforting to understand my body a bit more.

🌙 Erythema ab igne, or “toasted skin syndrome,” is something many of us with chronic pain conditions experience without realising.

It’s caused by repeated heat exposure (like from hot water bottles or heating pads), and can leave lasting marks on the skin.
