The first months of 2026 in Palestine have witnessed a sharp intensification of Israeli colonization, displacement, and oppression. The Israeli regime maintains its genocide in the Gaza Strip, while accelerating land confiscation, forced displacement, and suppression across the West Bank and Jerusalem. States’ inaction and complicity have enabled and sustained the Israeli regime’s crimes, permitting the acceleration of enclaving, which further undermines the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights to self-determination and return.

BADIL Resource Center for Residency and Refugee Rights has released Working Paper #33, “The Israeli Apartheid Spatial Regime: Fragmentation and Enclavement of Palestine.” The paper introduces “enclaving” as a framework for understanding how Palestinian space is being systematically reorganized by the Israeli regime into fragmented, governed units that isolate communities while reconfiguring control as administration. This Israeli apartheid spatial regime is deliberately engineered to fragment Palestine and its people into enclaves, with the purpose of systematically undermining their inalienable rights to self-determination and return.

Join our webinar for the launch of BADIL’s new paper, The Israeli Apartheid Spatial Regime: Fragmentation and Enclavement of Palestine with a critical discussion grounded in resistance, accountability, and action.
This is not about analogy. The spatial apartheid regimes in Palestine today and South Africa are connected through shared logics of colonial domination, land theft, and engineered separation - systems designed to oppress, dispossess, and erase.
What does real solidarity look like when we understand these connections as material, not metaphorical? And what does it actually take to dismantle such systems - legally, politically, and collectively?
