We’re obsessed with how designers are turning metal into something soft and dreamy. You know, that material we usually think of as rigid and cold?
Whether it’s through organic curves, an ability to play on light, or soft color palettes, metal can also bring warmth, movement, and real character to a room.
Metal can still be bold and strong (we love that too), but it doesn’t necessarily mean a space will feel cold or industrial.
Ceilings are the often forgotten, “fifth wall” that can transform any room.
Here are some of our favorite installations this week!

Glass blocks are making a comeback… and we’re obsessed.
5 surface materials you may have never heard of:
Rammed earth: Soil, sand, clay compressed to become a breathable surface material offering a sense of warmth and durability.
Tadelakt: Moroccan lime-based plaster, traditionally hand-polished to become a seamless waterproof surface material.
Cast glass brick: Bricks that play with light, delivery privacy, and bring timeless texture.
Liquid metal: Real metal sprayed, poured or brushed to coat any surface becoming another seamless material with a molten look.
Shou sugi ban: an ancient Japanese wood preservation technique, where cedar is charred to offer unmatched durability.
