Although the closing ceremony of Summer Olimpic Games 2024 🇫🇷 was just few days ago, we still have some interesting facts for you:)
- This year, breakdancing competition marked the sport's official debut in the program of summer Olimpics in Paris 🗼- no other dance sport discipline has previously been included. Gone sports: karate.
- For LA 2028 Olimipics, baseball, softball, cricket, flag football, lacrosse, and squash were approved;
- Unusual sports that once part of the Games are: Solo synchronized swimming, tandem bicycle, tug of war, hot-air ballooning and a swimming obstacle race as well as artistic competitions (1912-1948) - painting, sculpturing, architecture, writing and singing!

💥B-Girl/ B-boy (Bgirl/Bboy) - a female/male break dancer
💥BREAKING - short for breakdancing
💥TUG OF WAR - a competition in which two teams pull at opposite ends of a rope, each trying to pull the other team over a line between them

Did you know that the strange Olympic mascots have been a tradition since 1968?
In Paris phryges are based on a symbol of freedom throughout French history. The motto of the Olympic Phryge and Paralympic Phryge is: “Alone we go faster, but together we go further,”
La Maison du Chocolat has the honour to produce official olympic chocolate Phryge - have a look on that paserpiece! 😋

Some more interesting facts about Olympic Games in Paris
Did you know that:
- The Iconic Olympics and Paralympics Poster designs combined in one piece was drawn by Ugo Gattoni, a French illustrator?
Since the Stockholm Games in 1912, the Olympics Organizing Committee has commissioned a poster design. It is meant to showcase the symbols of the host country and illustrates the spirit of what the competition represents.

Today is the great Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris! 🇫🇷 Here are few interesting facts about:
💥 This is the Centenary of the Olympic Games in France and 3rd in history (1900; 1924; 2024).
💥 For the 1st time in the history of the Olympic Summer Games, the Opening Ceremony will not take place in a stadium. The parade of athletes will be held on the river Seine with boats for each national delegation.
💥 Games will be held not only in Paris but around the nation - e.g. Surfing will take place on Tahiti, part of French Polynesia, 9,500 miles from Paris!

Do you know what AGEISM is?
- It refers to HOW WE THINK (stereotypes), FEEL (prejudice) and ACT (discrimination) towards others or ourselves based on age.
- It imposes powerful barriers and has profound negative consequences on older adults’ health and well-being;
- It is everywhere, it is harmful, but can be combated by law policy, educational activities and intergenerational interventions.
