Procedura poświadczenia posiadania obywatelstwa RP dotyczy osób, które opuściły polskie tereny w XX wieku i często żyły w przekonaniu, iż te obywatelstwo utraciły. Tymczasem w wielu przypadkach stało się to z naruszeniem polskiego prawa, na skutek czego emigranci, choć często nieświadomie, wciąż byli obywatelami polskimi.

Meet Wojtek the bear 🐻

This is not a legend or a tale. This is a real history from WWII.

In April 1942, Polish soldiers marched from Pahlevi in Iran to Palestine. For beef preserve, a chocolate bar, a handful of money, and a Swiss officer's knife bought a small brown bear from the appropriately encountered Persian boy.

He accompanied the bulk of the Polish Second Corps to Italy. During the Battle of Monte Cassino, in Italy in 1944, Wojtek helped move crates of ammunition and became a celebrity with visiting Allied generals.

He was subsequently promoted to corporal.
