A wonderfull set of byzantine rings with natural pearls and a green chalcedon.

My winter resolution was to post fairly often here , since its been mostly simple belts and etsy orders recently ill share something slightly off topic...

Im starting to get a hang with digital art.
For now im practicing with a small project for my group Tagmata with examples of byzantine military and civilian clothing.

But soon it will play an active role in choosing and designing colour patterns for my glass enamel work and of course a gradual profesionalisation of jewelry work in general (im tired of using tons tracing paper)

No time for photos recently so im stealing them *evil laugh*

Shestovica belt and torsoly reconstruction from mound 42.

There are tons of different interpretations out there , under the guidance of Maciej Ligaj (who is the recipient of this set) we decided for a nomad style belt with hanging elements sewn from thin folded leather just like the corresponding bag.

The most important part of this project was using the exact amount of metal elements in the set and finding a logical place for the illfitting single studs (which there are plenty )

I think it came out perfectly.

My artistic variation on the Gotland/Visby Lens.

The original find is a full set of probably imported vendel period crystal pendants that were set into beautifle silver filigree frames by some very talented 11th century craftsman.

Ill soon be adding it to the onlime store in a few different sizes as pendants and earrings.

Today some simple daily worshop stuff.

3 miniature Frey figures and a Byzantine belt set ready for gilding.

Also some experimentation with Moravian and eariler Carolingian crystal pendants.After i figure the best way to secure the whole scaffolding ill make them in silver and gilded filigree just like the originals.

Another Byzantine tresure this time for my beloved Adrianna Mleczko .

A pair of imperial temple rings from Vielki Preslav Bulgaria.

The early medieval elites from Bulgaria followed the fashion trends and culture of the imperial court in Constantinopole.

Many jewelry items were imported from the greeks just like these maginificent temple rings made with filegree and granulated gold (my reconstruction is gilded silver) , precious stones and pearls .
