In today’s IT Industry fun facts and curiosities: did you know there are special computers built for the Amish? 💻

So, how does an Amish computer - "The Classic" - differ from a standard one? Does it do anything special?

Well, not quite. In fact, what it CAN’T do is the special part. Amish computers are designed to be strictly utilitarian: text processing, spreadsheets, and basic accounting is everything you can do on such a machine. These are the only functions that can be justified within the Amish culture - only the technology strictly necessary for business, nothing more.

So, what CAN’T you do on an Amish computer? Any form of entertainment, really.
🎬 Playing music or videos? Nope.
🌎 Browsing the Internet? Big NO.
🃏 Playing some Solitaire to kill some free time? Forget it.

In a way, Amish computers are simply stuck in the 80s - entirely by choice!
