Are dolphins dangerous or not?
But still, tourists are advised to be careful, because the dolphin is a large mammal; even without wanting it, it can harm a weaker and more fragile person. Most often, the dolphin does not come into contact with a person, keeps him at a distance and does not allow him to touch himself.

Dolphins are not fish, but mammals - they feed their young with milk and breathe not with gills, but with lungs. From time to time they need to emerge from the water to breathe. They usually dive for no longer than 1-3 minutes, but they can stay under water for 10 minutes, plunging tens of meters deep.

They have two unique hearing types. They see equally well both in water and in the air - this ability has not yet been solved either. Dolphins are very fast animals - they reach speeds of up to 55 kilometers per hour. They are exceptionally intelligent.

The ancient Greeks punished the culprit with the death penalty for killing a dolphin. Dolphins immediately swallow food without chewing, as their jaws are not adapted for chewing. The average dolphin consumes about a quarter of its weight in fish per day.

Adult dolphins reach sizes from 1.2 m in length and weight from 40 kg (river dolphin) to 9.5 m and 10 tons (killer whale). The brain is the largest organ in the dolphin's body. During sleep, a part of the brain is awake, allowing the dolphin to breathe in sleep so as not to drown! The life of a dolphin is directly dependent on access to oxygen.

The dolphin is the only mammal whose birth literally begins with the tail, and not with the head! Young dolphins stay with their mother for two or three years. In nature, there are almost forty species of dolphins, their closest relatives are whales and sea cows.
