Avocado

Avocado is a great delicacy for people with diabetes, as it contains less than one and a half percent of sugars, but a lot of vitamins and minerals that are good for health and strengthen the immune system.

Because avocados are rich in vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and other nutrients, avocados have "anti-aging" properties, slowing down the aging process, thus keeping the skin looking youthful.

The most common variety of avocado is called Hass, and is named after the American postman Rudolf Hass, who discovered an avocado tree with very tasty fruits in his yard and patented it in 1935. All Hass avocado trees come from that same tree, and it still bears fruit today.

Although avocados grow on trees, they are only fully ripe when they are picked from the branch. In anticipation of this day, an avocado can hang on a branch for up to 18 months, and nothing will happen to it.

In Russian, this fruit used to be called differently. It was usually called "agakat", but the name "crocodile pear" was also used.

A medium-sized fruit contains about 10 g of pure fiber, which is represented by soluble and insoluble fibers. Of the total amount of fiber, 75% is insoluble, which speeds up the passage of food inside the body. The remaining 25% soluble gives a feeling of satiety.

It grows on trees of the laurel family - the closest relative of the same laurel, from which wreaths were made in ancient Greece.

Avocado tastes like a vegetable but is considered a fruit

In Mexico, soups are cooked with avocados, main dishes are prepared. Since this fruit has a neutral bland taste, it adapts well to any set of products, and is often the basis for sauces, dressings, pates, cocktails and even ice cream.
