📣GeoDRR news. Events organized by institutions participating in the GeoDRR Project provide an opportunity to promote the MSc program in Geomatics Disaster Risk Reduction GeoDRR.

One such event was World Water Day 2026. It was celebrated at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on May 16, 2026, at Padang Kawad in Penang. 💧🌍

➡️The event, held under the patronage of the Chief Minister of Penang, attracted over 1,500 participants. The celebrations included a wide range of activities, such as the Water Run, watercolor and painting contests, exhibitions, educational booths, and community programs aimed at promoting water conservation and environmental sustainability.

➡️Through its exhibition booth, the USM Faculty of Humanities presented, among other things, master’s degree programs in Geomatics for Disaster Risk Reduction and other interesting scientific and educational initiatives.

Thank you USM for the information and your commitment to promoting GeoDRR!🙏❤️

📣GeoDRR news. Generally, we do not promote other commercial events on the social media profiles of the GeoDRR Project, which is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus CBHE program. But perhaps this is one exception that proves the rule, and underscores the importance of DRR - as an example of the strong interest in and advancement of DRR topics achieved by the entire GeoDRR Project Consortium.👍🙂
