Currently MRDO is working in seven Districts of Sindh Province. In 1992 torrential rains devastated the economy of people.

Marvi Rural Development Organization is non profit and non government organization working for the development of communities especially women and children since 1994. As agriculture fields around the village were slightly elevated. Therefore the rainwater flooded the village settlements. MRDO under the RSS project with the collaboration of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund successfully conducted a Capacity Building & Awareness Training in Khipro, District Sanghar, Sindh.

The training brought together government officials from various line departments and focused on critical areas including GBV prevention, women’s rights, legal aid services, health awareness, and center-based Disaster Risk Management (DRM). The objective was to strengthen institutional capacity, improve inter-departmental coordination, and enhance rights-based service delivery at the local level.

Marvi Rural Development Organization (MRDO), with support from the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) under the RSS Project, organized a comprehensive Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) training for the presidents and vice presidents of Village Organizations (VOs) and Community Organizations (COs) in Union Council , Khipro, District Sanghar, Sindh. The training aimed to strengthen community preparedness and resilience by equipping local leaders with essential knowledge and practical skills related to disaster risk identification, mitigation planning, early warning systems, and coordinated response mechanisms. Through interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, participants learned how to develop community disaster management plans, conduct risk assessments, and mobilize their organizations during emergencies. This initiative is an important step toward empowering rural communities to protect lives, livelihoods, and local assets in the face of natural hazards and climate-induced disasters.

MRDO with the support of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund under the project organized free medical camp at Elementary School Abdul Karim Dars- Khipro- Sanghar.

This camp provided an important opportunity to support children’s health by offering essential screenings and preventive care services directly within the school environment. Through general check-ups, doctors assess children’s growth, nutrition levels, and common health issues such as anemia, infections, and malnutrition.

The camp also reviewed children’s vaccination status and guides parents on completing missed immunizations.

MRDO team conducted a medical camp under the RSS project funded by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund in village Qasim Magrio, UC Hathungo. The camp provided free medical checkups, essential medicines, and health awareness sessions to vulnerable community members. About 278 men, women, and children benefited, improving access to basic healthcare services in the village.

MRDO organized School Based Disaster Risk Management (SBDRM) Training Sessions in various schools of Taluka Khipro- Sanghar.

These sessions were held across UC Hafiz Rajar & UC Hathungo, Tehsil Khipro, District Sanghar.

📌 Role of School Disaster Management Committees
📌 Ensuring safe learning environments for children

This initiative was conducted by MRDO in close coordination with DDMA Sanghar & the Consultant DRM Team as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen school-level resilience and safety.

Special Visit:
Today, TEO Khipro Mr. Ghulam Shabir Hingorjo and Assistant education office Asad Bozdar also visited the training venues and appreciated the efforts of MRDO, PPAF & trainers, school staff, and all stakeholders for promoting disaster preparedness and safety culture in schools.

MRDO successfully organized three School-Based Disaster Risk Management (SBDRM) sessions in District Sanghar to strengthen the knowledge and preparedness of students in the face of natural hazards.
