Dr. Imdad ullah Achakzai has assumed charge as the new Deputy Provincial Coordinator of the Balochistan AIDS Control Program, Quetta. His appointment marks a significant step toward strengthening the province’s response to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and awareness. With his experience and leadership, the program is expected to enhance service delivery, improve coordination across key sectors, and ensure better access to quality healthcare services for affected communities.

Under his guidance, the Balochistan AIDS Control Program aims to achieve greater milestones in disease prevention and implement effective strategies aligned with national and global health goals. Role of religious leaders and media in AIDS prevention: Balochistan AIDS Control Program seminar An important seminar was organized in collaboration with Balochistan AIDS Control Program and UNICEF regarding AIDS prevention, in which Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Baloch, Dr. KD Usmani, Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman and other experts highlighted the role of religious leaders and media in spreading awareness about AIDS and its prevention. This seminar will prove to be an important step towards bringing about social responsibilities and positive changes regarding AIDS.

The Logistics team of the Balochistan AIDS Control Program visited DHQ Pishin Chaman Killabullah to monitor the service providers for HIV patients, including laboratories. The team conducted brief discussions with diagnosed HIV patients and provided a briefing on HIV to the hospital's Medical Superintendent and laboratory technicians.
