To honor the retirement of *Professor Dr. Abdul Quddus Sohaib*, Dean, Faculty of Islamic Studies and Languages, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, an elegant and unforgettable farewell event was arranged by the Institute of Islamic Studies and the Islamic Research Center.

The event took place under the leadership of *Dr. Munaza Hayat*, Director, Institute of Islamic Studies, and *Dr. Altaf Hussain Langrial*, Director, Islamic Research Center. It was attended by heads of various faculties and departments of BZU, as well as a large gathering of students.

During the ceremony, speakers highly commended the academic, research, teaching, and administrative contributions of Professor Dr. Abdul Quddus Sohaib. They noted that he devoted his entire career to spreading knowledge, mentoring students, and strengthening the institution. His remarkable services will be cherished forever and will continue to inspire generations to come.

Distinguished social, political, academic, and literary figures from Multan also joined the event and spoke about Professor Dr. Abdul Quddus Sohaib’s character, integrity, and intellectual excellence. His humility, forbearance, and academic prestige were described as the defining features of his personality.

At the conclusion, Professor Dr. Abdul Quddus Sohaib thanked the organizers, faculty members, esteemed guests, and all participants from the core of his heart. He called his long association with the university a precious chapter of his life. The ceremony ended with prayers and best wishes for his future.

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالقدوس صہیب ،ڈین فیکلٹی آف اسلامک سٹڈیز اینڈ لینگویجز، بہاء الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی ملتان کی ریٹائرمنٹ کے موقع پر ایک پروقار اور یادگار الوداعی تقریب کا انعقاد ادارہ علومِ اسلامیہ اور اسلامک ریسرچ سینٹر کے زیرِ اہتمام کیا گیا۔ یہ تقریب علمی، ادبی اور سماجی حلقوں کی بھرپور شرکت کے باعث ایک باوقار اجتماع کی صورت اختیار کر گئی۔

ادارہ علوم اسلامیہ ڈاکٹر منزہ حیات اور ڈائریکٹر اسلامک ریسرچ سنٹر ڈاکٹر الطاف حسین لنگڑیال کی زیر نگرانی منعقد ہوئی۔ تقریب میں بہاء الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی کے مختلف فیکلٹیز اور شعبہ جات کے سربراہان کے ساتھ ساتھ طلباء کی بڑی تعداد نے شرکت کی۔
اس موقع پر مقررین نے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالقدوس صہیب کی علمی، تحقیقی، تدریسی اور انتظامی خدمات کو زبردست خراجِ تحسین پیش کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ڈاکٹر صاحب نے اپنی پوری زندگی علم کی ترویج، طلبہ کی تربیت اور ادارے کی ترقی کے لیے وقف کیے رکھی۔ ان کی خدمات ہمیشہ یاد رکھی جائیں گی اور آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے مشعلِ راہ ثابت ہوں گی۔
تقریب میں شہر کی معروف سماجی، سیاسی، علمی اور ادبی شخصیات نے بھی شرکت کی اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالقدوس صہیب کی شخصیت، اخلاق اور علمی مقام پر روشنی ڈالی۔ مقررین نے ان کے اخلاص، بردباری اور علمی وقار کو ان کی شخصیت کا نمایاں وصف قرار دیا۔
آخر میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالقدوس صہیب نے تمام منتظمین، اساتذہ، مہمانانِ گرامی اور شرکاء کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہوئے اپنے جذبات کا اظہار کیا اور جامعہ کے ساتھ گزاری گئی یادگار زندگی کو اپنے لیے اعزاز قرار دیا۔ تقریب دعا اور نیک تمناؤں کے ساتھ اختتام پذیر ہوئی۔

*Farewell Party | Department of Islamic Studies, BZU* 🎓✨

Today, the Department of Islamic Studies at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, was filled with emotions, laughter, and heartfelt memories as we hosted a farewell party for the outgoing batch.

The farewell was organized by *BS 6th Semester* to honor their seniors of *BS 8th Semester* as this semester comes to an end and their degree journey concludes. It marked the closing of a beautiful chapter for our seniors. From engaging classes and research discussions to lifelong friendships and shared moments in the department, we’ve grown together in knowledge and character.

The event was honored by the presence of our respected faculty as _Special Guests_:

Their guidance and support have been the foundation of our learning journey.

The program included speeches from faculty and students, reflections on the journey at BZU, and heartfelt wishes for the future. Teachers appreciated the dedication of the graduating students, while juniors expressed gratitude for their guidance and brotherhood.

May Allah grant our graduating batch success in both Deen and Dunya. Wherever you go next, carry the knowledge and values you’ve gained here with pride.

A two-day training course on *“Islam and International Humanitarian Law (IHL)”* was held at Ramada Hotel, Multan. The course was organized by the Institute of Islamic Studies, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Fareeda Yousaf, in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Pakistan.

The training featured distinguished speakers including Mr. Zia Ullah Rehmani (Legal Advisor, ICRC Pakistan), Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad (Professor of International Law, Tameer-e-Millat University, Islamabad), and Mr. Usman Khan (Legal Advisor, ICRC Pakistan). Additionally, Prof. Dr. Abdul Quddus Sohaib, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Languages at BZU, delivered a special lecture.

Dr. Munazza Hayat, Chairperson of the Institute of Islamic Studies, also attended the workshop.

A large number of male and female students participated in the course and gained valuable insights into the subject. The sessions covered fundamental principles of Islam and International Humanitarian Law, contemporary challenges, and their practical application.

The speakers emphasized equipping participants with modern academic and research skills, while the attendees actively engaged in discussions throughout the course.

At the end of the program, participants appreciated the training as highly beneficial and highlighted the need for its continuation. In the closing ceremony, certificates were distributed among the participants, and commemorative shields were presented to distinguished scholars.

An interview on the topic of the importance and implementation of Islamic teachings in the modern era with Prof. Dr. Munazza Hayat, the first Director of the Institute of Islamic Studies at Bahauddin Zakariya University, was published in Daily Ausaf (Multan). She stated that the complete implementation of Islamic teachings is the need of the time and emphasized that true understanding along with practical application is essential today. She highlighted that the Institute is actively promoting research, moderation, and the intellectual development of the younger generation, with a strong focus on character building and moral training. Through academic programs, seminars, and research activities, efforts are being made to prepare students who are intellectually strong and socially responsible.
