حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کے دور میں مصر میں گھوڑ دوڑ کا مقابلہ منعقد ہوا

جس میں مصر کے گورنر حضرت عمرو ابن العاص رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کے لڑکے محمد نے بھی حصہ لیا

مگر جیت ایک مقامی قبطی عیسائی کے گھوڑے کی ہوئی

اس پر محمد بن عمروابن العاص نے اس عیسائی کو یہ کہتے ہوئے کوڑے سے پیٹ ڈالا

"میں بڑے آدمی کی اولاد ہوں"

(بعض روایات کے مطابق "میں معزز والدین کی اولاد ہوں")

یہ مسلم ہسٹری میں وی آئی پی کلچر کے سر اٹھانے کی پہلی کوشش تھی

مگر ایسی دبائی گئی کہ پولیٹکل سائنس میں آج بھی دمکتا ریفرنس ہے

ہوا یہ کہ عیسائی سیدھا مدینہ منورہ پہنچا اور حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے شکایت کردی

حضرت عمر نے لڑکے کو باپ یعنی گورنر سمیت طلب کرلیا

اور جب یہ پہنچے تو عیسائی کو کوڑا پکڑا کر فرمایا

"اسے اسی طرح پیٹو، جیسے تمہیں پیٹا تھا"

وہ پیٹ چکا تو حضرت عمر نے اس سے فرمایا

"اس کے باپ کے گنجے سر پر ایک کوڑا مار"

عیسائی نے یہ کہہ کر انکار کردیا کہ مجھے باپ نے نہیں پیٹا تھا

حضرت عمر نے فرمایا

"مار اس کو بھی کیونکہ اسی کی شہ پر تو اس نے تجھے مارا تھا"

مگر عیسائی نے اس سے گریز کیا

اس پر حضرت عمر اپنے گورنر حضرت عمر ابن العاص رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کی جانب متوجہ ہوئے اور یہ تاریخی جملہ کہا

"مَتَى اسْتَعْبَدْتُمُ النَّاسَ وَقَدْ وَلَدَتْهُمْ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ أَحْرَارًا؟"

ترجمہ: تم نے کب سے لوگوں کو غلام بنانا شروع کر دیا، ان کی ماؤں نے تو انہیں آزاد جنا تھا؟❤️
