Choosing the Right Fonts:

What I’ve Learned as a Graphic Designer
When I first started graphic design, I used to think that flashy, decorative fonts would make my work stand out.

But over time, I realized that the wrong font can completely ruin even the best design.

Now, every time I select fonts, I follow these key principles:

🔹 Prioritize Readability
No matter how stylish a font looks, if the text isn’t easy to read, the design fails. I always test fonts at different sizes—if it’s not instantly clear, I move on to a better option.

🔹 Match the Mood
Fonts carry personality. A fun, playful font might be perfect for a kids’ brand but totally off for a corporate presentation. I always ask: Does this font align with the message? If not, I keep searching.

🔹 Master Font Pairing
Using multiple fonts can add depth to a design—but only if done right. I stick to a simple rule: a bold or decorative font for headlines and a clean, readable font for body text. This keeps the design balanced and professional.

🔹 Ditch Overused Fonts
Some fonts are so common that they lose their uniqueness. If I see a font everywhere, I look for alternatives that maintain a similar feel but offer a fresh, distinctive look.

A well-chosen font can elevate a design and enhance its impact. That’s why I take my time, test different options, and ensure every font serves a purpose.
