On 7th November, 2025, the CNM Department of Economics at LUMS, the Mahbub Ul Haq Research Centre at LUMS, the Consortium for Development Policy Research (CDPR), and Rizq, all collaborated to host a workshop on the state of food security in Pakistan, bringing together perspectives from research, policy, and practice. This workshop explored how Pakistan can build food systems that are resilient and sustainable, engaging with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on responsible production and consumption, and climate action.

The quality of graduate education in Pakistan is poor for many reasons, including complex university governance structures, lack of leadership qualities and inadequate government funding, as well as excessive bureaucratic control. CDPR's latest Insights for Change article, authored by Dr. Ishrat Husain, delves into the the issues that plague graduate education in Pakistan, and looks at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) as a case study for its positive outcomes.
