Media Capacity-Building Workshop on DR-TB, Stigma & Community Voices Successfully Held in Multan

Today, Active Help Organization (AHO), under the Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) 2025 Project and in partnership with Dopasi Foundation, successfully organized a Media Capacity-Building Workshop on Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB), Stigma and Community Voices in Multan.

The workshop brought together 20 journalists and media professionals from print, electronic, and digital media platforms to enhance their understanding of TB and DR-TB, promote stigma-sensitive reporting, and strengthen the role of media in raising public awareness and amplifying community voices.

We were honored by the presence of , Haji Muhammad Hanif (Chief Executive Officer, AHO), Dr. Esha Mehak (M&E Officer AHO-Multan),Moiz Hussain MEAL Officer who highlighted the importance of accurate and responsible media reporting in Pakistan’s fight against TB.
Together, we can raise awareness, reduce stigma, and move closer to a TB-free Pakistan.

Conducted a Tuberculosis (TB) and MDR TB awareness session at the TB Clinic (THQ Hospital Haroonabad) Punjab with TB patients and their contacts, including both male and female participants.
The activity focused on Community-Led Demand Creation. Enhanced community awareness, engagement, capacity building, and demand for MDR-TB services through: active involvement of TB survivor networks & TB champions; community-led efforts & local self-government participation,
promoting early diagnosis, and encouraging treatment adherence, while also addressing stigma and barriers to accessing healthcare services.
Together, we remain committed to leaving no one behind in the fight against TB.
This activity was conducted by Active Help Organization under the Stop TB Partnership Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) 2025 Project, in partnership with Dopasi Foundation, in collaboration with Provincial TB Control Program, Punjab and National TB Control Program Pakistan, with support from TB Partnership and Unitaid.
