The 4th e-Learning and Distance Education Conference ( ) aims to address the various aspects of e-Learning and Distance Education (EL/DE) domain. The submission areas may include but not limited to Organizational Strategy and Management; Technology; EL/DE Curriculum Development; Instructional Design; EL/DE Delivery; EL/DE Research Methods and Approaches; e-Skills, Information Literacy for Learning, EL/DE policies and all other technical, non-technical aspects of e-Learning and Distance Education.

Submission
Pre-submission of abstracts is a strict requirement for all papers. All abstracts and papers have to be submitted electronically via conference management system, which can be accessed at (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=eldec2017). Abstracts and full length papers must be in English and in PDF format. Full-Length paper should be between 8 to 12 pages long. At least one of the authors must be a registered participant at the Conference, and attend the Conference.

3rd e-Learning and Distance Education Conference ( ) was organized by Virtual University of Pakistan in . A large number of educationists from Pakistan and abroad participated in the event.
Research and innovation are vital for the socio-economic development of a country, Dr Attaur Rahman, the UN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation chairman, said at the opening ceremony of the conference. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman, Higher Education Commission joined the conference through video conference. Former finance minister Syed Babar Ali was the guest of honour at the event. He said that technology could change the education landscape of Pakistan.
In his inaugural address, Virtual University Rector, Dr Naveed A Malik welcomed the delegates. “The conference is an opportunity for intellectuals to share their ideas about distance learning. We have brought academicians and educationists from many disciplines together to enable them to share experiences about the use of information technology in education,” he said.
Professor Asha S Kanwar, the Commonwealth of Learning president; Dr Shironica Karunanayaka, professor of educational technology at The Open University of Sri Lanka; and Dr Robert Farrow from Institute of Educational Technology, The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK were the Keynote speakers of the 3rd e-Learning and Distance Education Conference 2016. The conference ended up with the Gala Dinner.
