The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed a 10% withholding tax on marriage hall bookings in Karachi.

According to Rana Raees, president of the Wedding Hall Association, this tax will be collected from event organizers, separate from the hall's rental charges.

The decision aims to streamline tax collection in the sector, but has raised concerns among residents about increased wedding costs.

The FBR is working to address a significant revenue shortfall, with hopes that this new tax will help meet financial targets.
