The International Day of Tolerance is celebrated worldwide, including in Pakistan, on November 16 each year. It was officially established by the UN General Assembly on November 16, 1996, and was first celebrated in 2005. Reporting on this occasion, I had the opportunity to speak with Rashida Dohad, Executive Director of the Omar Arshad Foundation. During our conversation, she pointed out that societal attitudes are a major cause of intolerance, shedding light on the need for collective change to build a more inclusive society.
