Sharp Rise in Appendix Cases Reported in Shimshal Valley, Residents Deeply Concerned

A worrying surge in appendix cases has been reported from Shimshal Valley, causing growing concern among local residents.
According to reports, dozens of patients have been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Hunza and the Aga Khan Health Centre for treatment.

Local sources say that both children and young people are increasingly falling victim to the appendix disease, with new cases being reported almost every day.
Health experts and community representatives have urged the relevant authorities to take urgent measures to control the situation and prevent further spread.

So far, more than twenty-five children—both boys and girls—have undergone appendix surgeries at the Aga Khan Health Centre and DHQ Hospital Hunza.
Residents complain that they are forced to hire private vehicles to transport their sick children to Hunza for treatment, adding to their financial burden.
