As our new shepherd, we pray that the Lord may bless you with strength, wisdom, and overflowing grace as you begin this journey with us. We look forward to walking with you in faith, learning from your guidance, and growing together in love and service.

A Heartfelt Farewell to Our Beloved Shepherd, Rev. Fr. Ed Zafe

For almost seven years, you have been more than a parish priest to us—you have been a spiritual father, a guiding light, and a living witness of Christ’s love.

Thank you for your endless love and unwavering service. You embraced the young with joy, cared for the elderly with compassion, and walked with each one of us through our joys and struggles. Even in times of great difficulty—especially during the darkest days when the church suffered from the aftermath of typhoons—you remained with us, strong and faithful, lifting our spirits with your presence and prayers.

Through your words, homilies, and simple presence, you drew us closer to Jesus and reminded us what it truly means to be humble, kind, and faithful. Your gentle teachings, timely advice, and constant encouragement have left a lasting mark in our hearts. You taught us to love one another, to stay rooted in faith, and to live each day with gratitude and humility. You were Christ among us—loving, patient, and true.

As you take on your new mission as rector in the seminary, please know that our prayers and love go with you. Thank you, Fr. Ed, for being a faithful servant of God and for loving us as Christ loves His Church.

Mga magurang, kun inaapod nin Dios an satong mga aki na magpadi, dai ta pag-enotan nin takot. Dai ta sinda pagdisganaron tulos-tulos, "Ay, inay! Saen man kita kaiyan makua nin ipaadal saimo dyan?"

Imbes na habuan agad-agad, ano daw kun ibahan ta (muna) sinda sa saindang “paglakaw.”

Dai ta ngona pag-isipon kun gurano an tuition. Isipon ta kun inano kagayon an kalag na puedeng maidulot kan satuyang mga aki sa satuyang familia asin sa bilog na kinaban oras na sinda magin marahay na padi.

Dai ta na ngona paghaputon kun kakayanon ta. Haputon ta ngona kun handa daw kita na magsabay sa Cruz na pinupurbahan, pinupuonan na bug-ongon, pa-sanon kan satuyang mga aki. Kailan pa naging tama ang pagtakas, pagtakbo palayo? Hindi ba ang Cruz ay hinaharap, tinatanggap, yinayakap?

An huna kan kadaklan, diit na sana talaga ngonian an inaapod nin Dios sa magpadi. Pero, bako iyang totoo. Dakul pa man syempre an mga inaapod ni Cristo na magpadi; pero kadaklan sa sainda dai nakapadi; ni dai ngani nakatungtong nin Seminario.

Ngata?

Ta pano, bago pa man makakupo, ni bago pa man makaduot - an ugat kan pisog nin “bokasyon” sa saindang mga puso, dati na iyang hinabuan (bako ninda, kundi) kan saindang mga magurang. Nagsisimula pa lang sumibol, kung baga, pinuputol na agad-agad. Nangangarap pa nga lang eh, hindi na pinapayagan. :-)

Sabay-sabay kita na iharani an bokasyon sa satuyang banwaan; sabay-sabay kita na iharani an satuyang bawaan sa bokasyon.
