GEN. T. DE LEON โ College Department students attended a recollection at La Reya Events Place and Private Resort on April 8, 2026, for a short spiritual break. Mrs. Estela Nepomuceno opened the event and welcomed Brother Demson to take part on stage.
Brother Demson began the recollection with a warm, fun experience for students. He began by explaining that recollection is a moment of grace where we are afforded peace, security, and privacy, and no one can disturb us. As he noted, โWe have a purpose why we were born in this life. Our notebook is our journal to know what our purpose is. And pain reveals the truth.โ Students participated actively as Brother Demson began asking questions about family.
He remarked, โWhen they share something, it helps us learn something from them. We have needs that humans cannot give, so we seek Jesus,โ emphasizing that we have deep needs in our hearts that others cannot fully satisfy. Jesus is the only one who can fill those needs. We listen to each other and learn from each other, but for our deepest struggles of the heart, we seek solutions through surrender, faith, and prayer in Jesus.
Recollection gives students time to ask, โHow am I really doing?โ, โWhat kind of person am I becoming?โ, and โWhere is God in my life?โ It reminds students that formation is not only academic but also spiritual. It is a pause that helps students move forward in their journey with clarity and resilience. โFor I know the plans I have for you,โ declares the Lord โ Jeremiah 29:11. Even in confusion and pressure, God tells us not to lose hope because our story is not over.
Brother Demson asked, โAre you happy or joyful?โ, highlighting that many students look smiling on the outside, but on the inside, they are tired and confused. Emphasizing this, he explained that we can see in a personโs eyes if they are not okay, even if they smile.
He sang, โAt kung kailangan mo ako, asahan mong akoโy darating. Kung kailangan mo ako sa sandaling bigo na ang lahat. Pusong kay tamis. Kailanmaโy di ka matitiis. Sa sandaling kailangan mo ako,โ underscoring that God will not abandon us when we need Him most. Students should not be afraid of their sins because God cares for us, even in our darkest times. When we cannot reach for the stars, he helps us find a stone to step on in our journey. God is our north star. When we have problems, we should not look left or right; we look up, because God gives us the true meaning and value of our lives.
After the Holy Mass, the event continued with writing a letter to ourselves for the future. Additionally, five students were chosen or voluntarily shared their letters with the audience. The venue was filled with smiles and happy glances as Brother Demson concluded the event with the blindfold activity. Students experienced being on the beach โ quiet, peaceful, yet lonely โ reflecting on their own lives and futures. This allowed them to imagine their parentsโ sacrifices and reminded students how much love and effort their parents put in. It also reminded everyone that even when life feels uncertain, love and support are always present.
The official officers were photographed on stage as Mrs. Tubera led their oath-taking after the Holy Mass during the recollection. Each club, organization, and student council officer was gathered on stage for a picture. The event ended at 5:00 p.m. with closing remarks from Mrs. Tubera and Mrs. Nepomuceno. Students captured moments of friendship and joy after a day of reflection during the recollection.

On February 20, the college department classes of Mam Apello and Mam Ramos successfully organized a mini exhibit collaboration between Science, Technology, and Society (STS) and Filipino 2 entitled โWonders of the Word.โ The exhibit aimed to connect science, history, culture, and language through creative presentations and informative displays. Grade 1 and Grade 4 students were invited to join and explore the exhibit, creating a meaningful learning experience that bridged different academic levels.
The exhibit featured several engaging sections, including 18th and 20th century inventions, First Filipino inventions, Wonders of the World, and meaningful photography. Students showcased significant innovations that transformed society, while also highlighting Filipino contributions such as the works of Eduardo San Juan, Roberto del Rosario, and Edgardo Vazquez. The Wonders of the World section emphasized global architectural achievements, while the meaningful photography display presented powerful images accompanied by thoughtful interpretations in Filipino.
Overall, โWonders of the Wordโ demonstrated how education becomes more impactful when disciplines collaborate. By combining science and language, the exhibit encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and cultural appreciation among participants and visitors alike. The event not only showcased studentsโ hard work and research but also inspired younger learners to appreciate innovation, heritage, and the power of words in shaping society.

We Ask for Your Forgiveness: God, Have Mercy on Us - Ash Wednesday
Repentance and returning to God took center stage during the Ash Wednesday Mass at St. Louis College Valenzuela, where students and teachers were reminded that it is never too late to return to God. The message underlined that faith is not about simply โlooking holy,โ but about genuine internal change.
Prayer is a central part of life that many people often forget. Saying sorry to God for our sins is like apologizing to someone we love after hurting them โ it restores the relationship. Problems often keep people awake at night, especially when they feel distant from God, yet His love always welcomes them back. Life may appear calm like still water, where saltwater and freshwater meet, but beneath the surface, hidden dangers can remain.
Ash Wednesday Mass marks the start of Lent, a time to reflect, repent, and prepare our hearts to celebrate Jesusโ resurrection. It is a reminder to say, โI want to start fresh and follow God.โ It also warns us not to hold grudges against those who hurt us, reminding us that life is short and we should live it wisely, with love and care for others.
โGreat hope for student dancers illuminates as the new dance room is blessedโ
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, after the Ash Wednesday Mass, the newly established dance area at St. Louis College Valenzuela was blessed with holy water, led by the Father. The blessing symbolized offering the new facility to God and asking for His protection, peace, and joy over all activities held there.

โTalent ignited the stageโ
On Thursday, February 19, 2026, the opening ceremony kicked off to life as college students took center stage. The event welcomed the audience with colorful costumes led by the first-year college students. Their lively performance showed that even small efforts today can lead to big success in the future, a message captured in the line, โDance like everyone is watching, because your talent deserves to shine.โ
โSmall dancers can make a big impact on stage.โ
It is never too early to start dancing. Foundation Day celebrates the schoolโs history and achievements, and dancing is a way to say, โWe are proud to be part of this school.โ Despite their fears, the elementary students performed with courage and confidence, displaying pride in their abilities. Their simple yet heartfelt performance touched many hearts as they danced together as one school family. Day 1 set the tone for the power and spirit of Louisian students.
On Thursday, the Battle of the Bands began, with competition from different schools. High school students played a central role in managing the event. Each band told a story, and every song shared emotionsโit was all about making memories. As one punch line said, โMusic can speak feelings we might hide or canโt say out loud.โ Itโs not just about listening; itโs about feeling, understanding, and enjoying together.
