Today, the faithful gathered in prayer and devotion as the Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary’s appearance to the three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. Through the praying of the Holy Rosary, candle offerings, and community prayers, devotees reflected on the message of peace, repentance, and faith that continues to inspire millions around the world.

As one community, we continue to seek the guidance and intercession of Mama Mary, especially for peace, healing, and unity among families and nations. The celebration reminds everyone to remain steadfast in prayer and to deepen our relationship with God through the Rosary.

Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima
O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the Rosary and Mother of Mercy, who at Fatima revealed to the three little shepherds the treasures of grace hidden in the Rosary, inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion.

Through the mysteries of our Redemption recalled therein, may we obtain peace for the world, the conversion of sinners, and the favors we now so earnestly seek.

The month of May started with a simple but meaningful celebration as the Our Lady of Consolation Parish – Recoletos opened the Flores de Mayo in its different chapels.

On the first day, people gathered to offer flowers and prayers to Mama Mary. It was a quiet and heartfelt moment where the community came together, showing their faith, giving thanks, and asking for guidance.

These photos show some of the chapels under the parish during their first day of Flores de Mayo. Even in simple ways, you can see the love and devotion of the people in every offering and prayer.

As we continue this tradition, may we stay united and keep our faith strong, always walking closer to Christ through Mama Mary.

The Flores De Mayo Youth Volunteer Catechists successfully conducted a Seminar and Workshop on April 25, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Our Lady’s Hall, Our Lady of Consolation Parish.

The activity, led by the Catechists and the Parish Youth Coordinating Council, gathered youth volunteers for an afternoon of formation, preparation, and shared commitment to service in line with the upcoming Flores De Mayo celebration.

𝐅𝐃𝐌 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀

We’re inviting each chapel to send 2–3 active youth who are willing to share their time and heart as Youth Catechists this coming Flores de Mayo. This is a beautiful chance to serve and grow in faith together.

As young ministers of Christ from Our Lady of Consolation Parish - Recoletos, we are sent to actively build bridges, to restore what is broken, and to bring light where there is misunderstanding, hatred, and indifference.

AS ONE, we stand with Pope Leo XIV, whose life and mission remind us that true leadership is rooted in dialogue, humility, and the sincere pursuit of unity. In a time where voices of division are strong, we are challenged to stand firm; not in anger, but in compassion; not in hostility, but in truth and charity.

Because we are His peace.
And we are sent by Him.

Shiena Quimada, PYCC Laray Youth Coordinator, and Nathan Bacalso, Social Communications Chairperson, have been chosen as representatives of Metro Cebu South District 2 for the Regional Youth Day 2026 in Calbayog.

They are among the 244 delegates from the Archdiocese of Cebu. This a reminder that this mission is shared, and that what they carry goes beyond themselves.

Anchored on the theme, “Take courage! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33), this journey calls for a kind of courage that listens, learns, and chooses to serve even after the event ends.

As a parish, we stand behind them, not just in sending them off, but in trusting that what they receive will find its way back into the life of the community in Laray and beyond.
