DOST Balik Scientist showcases biodegradable packaging and tech for seawater desalination.
Dr. Noel Peter Tan, a Medium-Term Balik Scientist of DOST PCIEERD presented his accomplishments during his Exit Report Presentation (ERP) at the University of San Agustin - Iloilo on 17 April 2024. His report entitled, "The Next Big Thing is Tiny: The Rise of Nanotechnology", Dr. Tan presented his contributions, particularly in the fields of nanoscience, nanotechnology, and chemical engineering.
The progress on his project on biodegradable packaging and membrane technology for seawater desalination program at the University of San Agustin was presented during the ERP.
Committed to furthering research within the country, Dr. Tan opted to repatriate and remain in the Philippines. Capitalizing on this opportunity, the University of San Agustin, again appointed Dr. Tan as the director for CANMEET.
