The Philippine School of Interior Design holds an annual exhibit to showcase the works of their graduating students.

“H.U.G.I.S. atbp” was the exhibit held in 2019 that focused on the creative play in utilizing small spaces to accommodate all the necessary functions of a home.

Full interior renovations done for Appa Coffee's first branch in Metro Manila

The usual issue we hear from condo unit owners is the lack of storage space. For this project, we used the headboard and tv console as additional storage. The renovations included upgrading all finishes, bathroom fittings and kitchen cabinetry.

For this three-bedroom condo fit-out, the client wanted an industrial look. They also wanted to add more lights while maintaining the existing ceiling height. To achieve this, we added bricks, wooden elements and we exposed the electrical lines!

Another feature that we had to do for this build is to sound-proof the room dedicated for that meditative service that they provide. Can you imagine how to soundproof a space in the middle of a two music-heavy, exercise rooms? 🤔💡🤓

The two main challenges that we faced in building out this cycling and rowing gym are the mobilization schedule and the availability of utility lines. Since it is located in a mall, construction was on graveyard shifts and the tapping point for utilities were far off and undersized. We’re happy that we are backed with a team who gladly took on the challenge! This 200 sqm space was turned over in just three months considering all the upgrades! 🤓

Saddle Row is a Rowing and Cycling gym. The biggest consideration in building out commercial spaces is the lease so time is really of the essence. We were able to turnover this 200 sqm fit-out project in three months.

Proper placements and types of light should be considered in illuminating the exterior of a home. Aside from way-finding, outdoor lights add appeal and feeling of safety in the immediate environment of the house. Our team adds night renderings to our presentations to help clients visualize their space in different times the day. ☀️🌙⭐️💡

Wooden floors add warm tones to a room. Additionally, they are preferred in bedrooms because they are warm to the feet!

An art collector’s home situated in a corner lot.

Corner lots require bigger setbacks as they are bounded by two perpendicular roads. When setbacks are followed correctly, they allow better ventilation and natural lighting.

Jai is the designer and the head of operations for Ibis. She finished her Architecture degree in the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2014. She found interest in construction having been exposed to site work early on in her career. Fascinated by problem-solving and how things are made, this led to the formation of the design-build studio.
