You and me, forevermore

Four tumultuous years of friendship, sacrifice, and a crazy little thing we call hope. Our family has taken on many names—from Copernicus to Mendel, and Mendel to Lavoisier, now finally Newton. In each year, we have made memories that will last us a lifetime.

The four walls of a classroom may feel constricting at times, but they’re made lighter by the laughter and camaraderie we share. No school day is complete without break-time shenanigans or the echo of loud cackling that reverberates throughout the room. These days we have shared were not always picture-perfect. They weren’t made of perfect answers and perfect turns. They’re a mosaic, with love seeping through the cracks of mundanity.

We have spent the last few years sharing everything—the highs and lows, failures and achievements—but most importantly, we have shared love. And with this love, we have manifested our legacy; we have made our mark. We may have shown the world small creations such as Kabuki, the Big Book, our light-studded garden, and the black chair in front of our room, but most importantly—we will be remembered as the class who shared finger hearts and remembered to say ‘I love you’ whenever we could.

Love is terrible, awful, and makes us do things we wouldn’t dare to do. Gladly, it was something we did not do alone. As we say goodbye to the close proximity and the promise of same faces in the same room, let us remember the happiness we once shared. Together we will carry the lessons and brave the next step forward.
