On July 7, 1969, Sogod National Trade School was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 4352, a vocational institution tasked to answer the problem of lack of manpower training for adults and out of school youths. Twelve years after, the school once again was converted into Southern Leyte School of Arts and Trade, this time transforming it into an institution of tertiary education. Republic Act 793

𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘 | Following further deliberations and consultations by the University Management, Southern Leyte State University announces that the original graduation schedules for the Sogod and Tomas Oppus Campuses shall be retained.

The University recognizes the concerns raised by graduating students, parents, and families regarding the earlier schedule adjustments, particularly those involving confirmed travel arrangements and prior commitments. In view of these concerns and after carefully reassessing the situation, the University has decided to proceed with the commencement exercises on the originally scheduled dates for the affected campuses: May 25, 2026 for Hinunangan Campus and San Juan Campus; May 26, 2026 for Sogod Campus; May 27, 2026 for Bontoc Campus; June 1, 2026 for Maasin City Campus; and June 2, 2026 for Tomas Oppus Campus.

The University expresses its sincere appreciation to our students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and stakeholders for their patience, understanding, and continued support throughout the discussions and coordination undertaken in recent days.

Southern Leyte State University remains committed to ensuring that the graduation ceremonies are conducted meaningfully, solemnly, and in a manner befitting the achievements and sacrifices of our graduates.

Further details and related coordination guidelines, if any, shall be communicated through the appropriate University offices. Thank you very much.
