(The tangible demonstration of Godโs provision for His people)
Exodus 15:22-27 (CSB)
22 Then Moses led Israel on from the Red Sea, and they went out to the Wilderness of Shur. They journeyed for three days in the wilderness without finding water. 23 They came to Marah, but they could not drink the water at Marah because it was bitter -- that is why it was named Marah. 24 The people grumbled to Moses, โWhat are we going to drink?โ 25 So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he threw it into the water, the water became drinkable. The LORD made a statute and ordinance for them at Marah, and he tested them there.
26 He said, โIf you will carefully obey the LORD your God, do what is right in his sight, pay attention to his commands, and keep all his statutes, I will not inflict any illnesses on you that I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.โ 27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy date palms, and they camped there by the water.
Exodus 16:1

John 4:28-39
Today we are going to understand the power and authority of God's living Word-how it transforms lives, strengthens faith, corrects paths, and leads people to walk in His truth and purpose
why it is important in our daily lives-to guide us, strengthen us, protect us, and help us grow in faith and obedience to Him
as Hebrews 4:12 says, For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart
If God's living Word carries power and authority, why do many people hear it yet remain unchanged, fail to believe, and do not grow in faith?
"Dili lang kutob sa pagpamati sa pulong sa Ginoo."
God's living Word is powerful and authoritative, but hearing alone is not enough. Many hear it yet remain unchanged because they do not truly understand, believe, and obey it.
The Word transforms lives only when it is received with faith and followed with obedience. Hearing informs, understanding enlightens, believing strengthens faith, and obedience produces real change
God wants us to
1. Hear
2. Understand
3. Believe
4. Follow and Obey
Matthew 13:23 "The Good ground"
The Parable of the Sower (Seeds)
Matthew 13:19
"A heart must be a good ground"
"Good ground speaks about a teachable heart. The one that understands the Word."
"If you truly understand the Word, it is easy to believe and follow and obey it."
1. Hear/ paminawa
- Listen to His word
John 8:47 "He who is of God hears God's words...
(Eph 2:2-3) We once walked according to the course of this world and conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, but now we are of God; and he who is of God hears God's words
โข We have heard the Word that stirs our hearts to keep listening
John 10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
2. Understand/ sabta
โข Hearing informs, understanding enlightens
โข Understand its purpose
โข Understand its purpose, why it was written, and to whom it was addressed
โข Understand its importance and why it should be the guiding manual
โข Recognize that it is the Word of God
โIf it is the Word of God, it is irrevocableโ
2 Peter 1:21
3. Believe / tuohi
โข Believe that it's the foundation of truth (of what is true)
โข Believe that it is unchanging
โข Believe that it contains fulfilled prophecies that confirm its truth
โข Believe that Godโs Word is intentional.
John 17:17
1 Timothy 2:4
4. Obey or follow / sunda
- Make it your life principle
โข Following and obeying Godโs Word is a must
โข Following Godโs Word is not optional but essential for a true believer. As written in James 1:22, โBe doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.โ This reminds us that hearing Godโs Word alone is not enoughโwe must actively obey it. Therefore, following and living out Godโs Word is a must, because true faith is proven through obedience, not just listening
โObediemce produces real changeโ
Amod 8:11-12
โDo not miss any opportunity to receive and understand the Word of Godโ
โThe Word must have the authority and power in our lives.โ
GODS WORD HAS POWER (THE SAMARITAN WOMEN)
- God's Word powerfully transforms a broken life into a restored and purposeful one, as seen in the Samaritan woman, where it reveals hidden truth, convicts the heart, offers living water for renewal, breaks social and personal barriers, ignites hope and faith, leads others to salvation, and turns isolation into a life of mission and testimony
GODS WORD HAS POWER (THE SAMARITAN WOMEN)
- A woman with a broken past heard Jesus speak truth into her life, understood that He revealed her deepest reality, believed that He was the Messiah offering "living water" and a new life beyond her past, and obeyed and followed by leaving her water jar, returning to her town, and boldly sharing her testimony-leading others to faith and showing that God's Word transforms a life from isolation into mission
GODS WORD HAS AUTHORITY
- God's Word carries authority. Jesus boldly speaks to the Samaritan woman, clearly revealing that He is the Living Water. Through this encounter, He breaks the barriers of custom and tradition between Jews and Samaritans, showing that His truth transcends human divisions
- That very authority of Christ's Word stirred the heart of the Samaritan woman. Once she encountered Jesus, she was no longer the same. Empowered by the truth she received, she went back to her town and boldly proclaimed what she had experienced, declaring to others the message of their long-awaited Messiah, the Living Water who transferms lives. That authority of God's Word broke every chain of Satan in her life, setting her free and transforming her into a bold witness of Christ

God is the reason for everything that we are and everything that we possess. Apostle Paul made clear that as Christโs followers, we are only good stewards of the abilities we have-- only God can make things happen. With Lord Jesus Christ as our Master, we are merely His servants.
Therefore, it is essential to comprehend both our mission in this world as well as what it means to be a servant.
"What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believeโas the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow." 1 Corinthians 3:5-6 (NIV)
