Behind every clicking shutter and written draft was a story worth telling, and for one defining stretch—the campus journalists of 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 and 𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧 became the story themselves.📖

The 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 has finally come to an end, but not without leaving behind an impression. The nervous hand gripping the pen, the quiet pep talk before going inside the competition room, all those pictures speak volumes about determination hidden in silence and dedication shouted aloud.🗣️

It was much more than a competition. It was a story, of deadlines and new-found friendships, of young journalists who discovered the strength and the power of their voices.🧍‍♀️

While the DSPC may have ended, its epoch lingers; in the photos capturing the shared laughter, in the lessons to be learned next time around, in the quiet satisfaction of having participated in their full glory.🏆

To every journalist who carried the name of their publication with heart: this is your story, forever frozen in time. 🧡💙

𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬

Leadership is often mistaken for being the loudest voice in the room, but its truest form lies in the quiet resolve to listen. It is built upon empathy, integrity, and the willingness to stand beside others even when recognition is absent. These are the values that have shaped Ron Arvie Vidallo, a Grade 11 student whose journey has always been anchored in service rather than status.

Long before setting his sights on becoming the Grade 11 Representative of Labas Senior High School, Vidallo had already found his calling in leadership and communication. As the current class president of Grade 11 Bacon and a campus journalist specializing in English Radio Broadcasting, he has learned that every story carries truth and every voice deserves to be heard. His passion for journalism has become a platform for promoting responsible communication and integrity, while his involvement in the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) and previous student leadership roles has further strengthened his sense of responsibility and commitment to serving others.

What inspired his candidacy, however, was not the pursuit of a title but the quiet struggles of fellow students. Witnessing many Grade 11 learners navigate an unfamiliar environment with uncertainty reminded him of his own first steps. It became the spark behind his advocacy—to build a community where every student feels welcomed, heard, and valued.

"Every single student deserves to feel heard and deserves to feel important in our student campus," Vidallo shared.

Grounded in the principles of inclusivity and compassion, his vision extends beyond representation. He hopes to foster a school environment that prioritizes students' well-being, promotes open communication, and reminds every learner that support is never out of reach. For him, leadership is not measured by authority but by the ability to make others feel seen and safe.

As another chapter unfolds at Labas Senior High School, Vidallo carries with him more than accomplishments and experience. He carries a belief that leadership begins with listening and grows through service. Whether inside the newsroom, the classroom, or the student council, he hopes his voice will continue to echo—not above others, but alongside them.

True leadership is rarely measured by the noise a person makes; it is defined by the quiet spaces they intentionally build for others to grow. In the fast-paced environment of senior high school, it is easy for student leadership to become an abstract concept. But for Reyn Avril Anishka Landicho, a candidate for the SSLG Grade 11 Representative at Labas Senior High School, service is grounded in proven experience and a deep, student-centered commitment.

When looking at Anishka’s approach to representation, one detail becomes immediately clear: she speaks through the lens of her experience. In every discussion of her vision, her past credentials and involvement serve as the foundation before expounding on her goals for the student body. For Anishka, these experiences are not merely items on a resume; they are the tangible proof of her dedication—a record of trial, ex*****on, and active involvement that qualifies her to stand as a reliable anchor for the Grade 11 batch.

Her core philosophy centers on keeping the welfare of the individual learner at the heart of every decision. She believes a true representative should not just sit at the head of a table waiting for issues to arise, but must actively work to build an inclusive environment where every student feels seen, heard, and supported across all strands.

"Leadership is never defined by the title you hold, but rather it's by the people you choose to serve and the positive impact you leave behind," Anishka emphasizes.

For Anishka, stepping up as Grade 11 Representative is about translating that philosophy into a daily reality inside the corridors. She envisions an SSLG that operates as an accessible, proactive support system—listening deeply to student concerns, prioritizing student well-being, and turning creative student ideas into meaningful action.

As the SSLG election approaches, Anishka stands ready on the precipice of a defining chapter at Labas Senior High School. She brings to the ballot a distinct balance: a proven track record built on experience, paired with an authentic, student-first heart. For the voters of the Grade 11 batch, her platform offers a steady and reassuring promise—a leadership that doesn’t just hold a title, but works tirelessly to serve the people behind it.

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰, 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞

Many factors enable a person to be an efficient leader—intelligence, strategic thinking, and pure effort—yet all of that falls flat without grit, the vital ability to improve and learn from your mistakes. Passion and perseverance triumph over raw intellect and effort by a mile. They dictate not just leadership, but how they respond to severe hardships and sudden failures. While leadership can be a dream, it is also a grave responsibility placed upon one's shoulders. Sittie Norfisah Ampuan knew this heavy truth by heart, yet she still decided to step up and pursue it, defying all the obstacles and cons that come with the territory.

Ever since Grade 7, she has stood tall as a student leader, constantly defying the limits of what her abilities can withstand. That same grit remains true today in Grade 11, where she is stepping up to run for Grade 11 Representative at Labas Senior High School, determined to push forward despite every challenge. The edge of experience is a blade she has sharpened for years, in testimony of her achievements and multiple programs as a student council since Junior High in Collegio de Santa Rosa.

"Tumakbo po ako nung Grade 7 as an upcoming Grade 8 representative, and following as an Information officer in Grade 9, and in Grade 10, as student council President naman po. Tuloy-tuloy na po sya,” Ampuan mentioned.

Stepping onto a brand-new campus can be daunting, especially when it represents a world completely removed from the familiar hallways of one's former private school. Yet, rather than blending into the background, Ampuan wants to advocate for the things she stands for—sustainable development of the school campus.

"Ang campaign ko po ito, sustainable development po. Para alam din po ng estudyante na sila din po ang mag bebenefit dito kasi school din naman po natin into, dito po tayo nag-aaral," she explained.

As the election approaches, the true test of her seasoned grit begins. Stepping into the unfamiliar territory of Labas Senior High School, Ampuan carries with her a seasoned blade of leadership, a track record of student council positions—one sharpened by years of trial, error, and unwavering grit. A tested student leader standing on the precipice of a new chapter, ready to turn the heavy responsibility of leadership into a lasting legacy for the entire student body.

The halls of Labas Senior High School came alive with excitement and anticipation as students returned to campus for the first day of classes, marking the beginning of another academic year filled with opportunities, challenges and growth.

Students arrived early, greeting classmates and teachers after the 2-month long school break. The atmosphere was marked by smiles, enthusiasm, and a renewed sense of purpose as learners prepared to embark on a fresh educational journey.

A major highlight of the opening day was the classroom orientation conducted by advisers and subject teachers. During the sessions, students were introduced to important Department of Education (DepEd) policies, school regulations, academic expectations, and guidelines designed to ensure a safe and productive learning environment throughout the year.

Teachers also discussed essential announcements regarding class schedules, school activities, attendance policies, and academic requirements. These orientations served as an opportunity for the students to familiarize themselves with the school's expectations and to clarify any concerns as they adjusted to their new classes.

Another significant part of the day's program was the introduction of the various school clubs and organizations available to students, highlighting the importance of student involvement in extracurricular activities, while emphasizing how participating can help develop leadership skills, creativity, teamwork, and personal growth. Students were encouraged to join organizations that align with their passion and talents, allowing them to make the most of their senior high school experience.

For many students, the first day represented more than just the start of classes—it symbolized a fresh beginning. Whether meeting new classmates, reconnecting with friends, or setting new academic goals, learners embraced the day with optimism and determination.

As the school year officially begins, Labas Senior High School continues to foster an environment that promotes learning, engagement, and holistic development. With orientations completed and new opportunities introduced, students are now ready to face the challenges and achievements that await them in the months ahead.

The first day of classes served as a reminder that every school year offers a chance for growth, discovery, and success—a journey that has only just begun for the students of Labas Senior High School.
