Self-proclaimed as “The Last Juan” following the passing of his Juan Dela Cruz bandmates Pepe Smith and Wally Gonzalez in 2019 and 2021, respectively, Hanopol remains one of the few who can speak about the 1970s Filipino rock scene without myth or pretense.

Juan Dela Cruz Band is one of six inaugural inductees to the Rolling Stone Hall of Fame alongside Kidlat Tahimik, Jessica Soho, Charo Santos-Concio, Paeng Nepomuceno, and Vic del Rosario Jr.
