The December outreach was a simple reminder of what community care really looks like—people showing up and helping in whatever way they can.

Family and friends supported us through donations, sharing our story, prayers, and hands-on help in preparing and distributing the care packages. These quiet, simple acts are what made this outreach possible.

At the heart of this outreach were children undergoing cancer treatment—kids who spend more time in hospitals than playgrounds, whose days revolve around checkups, waiting rooms, and treatments that ask too much of such young bodies. The care packages were small, but they were meant to bring a bit of comfort, distraction, and softness into a very hard season.

We initially planned to give 40 care packages with a simple list. But because of people’s kindness, the list grew to the point that it wouldn’t fit in the bag 😅 a good problem to have💜 We ended up giving 50 care packages with alcohol, face masks, wet wipes, soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, snacks (biscuits, cookies, orange juice, banana loaf bread), a coloring book, crayons, a pencil, clay, and a sharpener.

We also shared these blessings with Little Ark Foundation, an NGO that supports pediatric outpatients of NCH, including children with cancer.

REMINDERS TO OUR VALUED BLOOD DONORS ❤️
✔️ Get enough rest and sleep before donating blood
✔️ Eat a healthy meal before donation
✔️ Drink plenty of water
❌ No smoking before donation
❌ No alcohol intake before and after donation

Here are the Donor Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 50kgs
2. Ages 16-65 years old
3. No respiratory tract infection symptoms like, cough, colds, fever, sore throat.
4. Tattoo and body piercing should be more than 12 months from the date acquired.
5. No alcohol, aspirin or pain reliever intake in the last 24 hrs.

Heroes, we’re back!

After being away for a while, JES Lives is kicking off the year strong. As we start fresh, we’re reminded that small acts of kindness can make a life-changing difference and one of the simplest ways to give back is through blood donation.

The holiday season often causes blood donations to slow down, but the need never does, especially for kids with cancer at National Children’s Hospital who rely on blood transfusions throughout their treatment.
