LOOK: BARANGAY ASSEMBLY DAY IN STA. RITA

In compliance with DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-012 and Section 397 of Republic Act No. 7160, the Barangays of Sta. Rita, Samar, have officially commenced their Semestral Barangay Assemblies.

Why is the Barangay Assembly important?
This activity is more than just a meeting—it is a vital exercise in transparency, accountability, and community empowerment. It serves as a direct platform for:
• Transparency: Reviewing financial reports and project accomplishments.
• Inclusivity: Giving every resident a seat at the table to voice their concerns.
• Collaboration: Aligning the community's vision with local government programs.

The Kick-Off in Brgy. Dampigan

The DILG Sta. Rita Field Operation Office, led by MLGOO Amelsa Niña Abria Perez, kicked off the activities at Brgy. Dampigan. As the municipality’s Showcase Barangay, Dampigan demonstrated the impact of good governance with a strong turn-out of participants.
Punong Barangay Erlette Mendoza, together with the Sangguniang Barangay members, SK Officials, and barangay employees, presented a comprehensive report on their accomplishments. The event also highlighted strong stakeholder collaboration with PMAJ Kim Windell A. Montilla (Sta. Rita MPS) and Pauline Joy Bayocboc (World Vision).

Progress Update:

Out of the 38 Barangays in our municipality, 12 have successfully conducted their assemblies. We look forward to the remaining 26 Barangays joining this movement for good governance!
