Today we honor Dr. Jose Rizal, his legacy cuts through 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒓.

Against the deep black of history, Rizal’s words shine like silver, timeless, unbroken, and bright. Black stands for the struggles and uncertainty endured through the years.

“𝐻𝑢𝑤𝑎𝑔 𝑘𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑚𝑢𝑡𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑔𝑎 𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑔𝑚𝑜𝑘 𝑠𝑎 𝑑𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑚 𝑛𝑔 𝑔𝑎𝑏𝑖.”

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝟏𝟔𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲, let us be reminded to be that dawn, "pagbubukang-liwayway" carrying his silver light through honor and unwavering patriotism.

𝟏𝟐𝟖 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒐𝒎, 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆. Today reminds us that independence is not just a celebration, but a call to action. The 𝑃ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑝𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑡𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑖𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒, what proves difficult is defending leaders who fall short. Let us instead cherish our nation deeply, live with honor, stand in solidarity, and do our part to build a brighter future for generations to come.

The Laguna University ROTC Unit rendered assistance during the flag-raising ceremony, contributing to its orderly and dignified conduct. The flag ceremony, held at the Laguna University Gym, officially marked the opening of Summer Class 2026.

The event brought together students, faculty members, and university personnel to mark the start of another academic term, one filled with opportunities for learning, personal growth, and academic achievement. The ceremony served as a reminder of the Laguna University community’s shared commitment to excellence, responsibility, and continuous development.

The ROTC Unit’s participation reflected its ongoing commitment to serving both the university and the nation with honor and professionalism.
