Groundbreaking day for Fairy Skylight project!

Today marks the first day of construction for our second residential project in Antipolo, Rizal. “Fairy Skylight”, the name given by our client, captures the moment she sat at the center of the site, bathed in sunlight through an opening in the tree canopy. That fleeting experience became the core of our design. The groundbreaking ceremony was organized by Contractor-Architect Chester Valera and attended by the client and Mede Studio principal, Ar. Groundbreaking day for the staycation project!

We celebrate today the official start of our new staycation project in Pampanga. This recreational development highlights aliwalas or the sense of spaciousness as its main design value, borrowed from the site’s breadth. It also stems from our shared appreciation for openness, both within and beyond the walls of a building. The ceremony was co-organized by Mede Studio principal, Ar. Martin, our studio’s construction team, and the client’s family. We’re excited to share design and progress updates along the way!

As we close the year, we’re deeply grateful for our clients, collaborators, and friends who created with us. Each project brought new ideas, stories, and lessons that continue to shape how we practice. We end the year grounded in what we’ve learned and inspired by the connections we’ve made. We carry that gratitude and excitement with us into 2026!

Mede Studio principal Eldry Infante shared his creative journal today for A Sphere’s In Session: A Grounded Future. This intimate office workshop explores space design shaped by local culture and personal memory.

The talk highlighted the importance of making sense of the creative journey and self, through reflections on the environments that shape a designer: the one you’re born into and the one you immerse yourself in. As an autobiographical exercise, it argues that attention, which is scarce in a distracted world, should be treated as one of the most important creative disciplines.

Our studio extends its thanks to Lance, Isabel, and the entire A Sphere team for the warm welcome and reflective conversations. We applaud your mission to strengthen the Kapampangan creative community. Congratulations too on Albero’s 8th anniversary!

Our studio is proud to close our enriching and fulfilling first showing at the World Architecture Festival 2025, carrying our project’s story and mission with us. We share this journey with our client, our jury, and the people behind GROHE Young Visionaries and Practice Crit, Kanto, as well as our family and friends—everyone who has supported us so generously.

We’re also grateful to stand alongside six more practices from the Philippines this year, bringing home two category wins and strengthening our growing presence at WAF. With this experience, we carry forward a reenergized and inspired mindset to our studio.
