|| The Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office I (DA-RFO 1) with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG 1) launched the Halina't Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) Kadiwa'y Yaman (KAY) Plants for Bountiful Barangays Movement (PBBM) on March 1, 2023 at Brgy. Casilagan, San Juan, La Union. The HAPAG KAY PBBM was simultaneously launched all over the country wherein the main activity was conducted at Rizal Park, Manila. It is a collaborative project of DA and DILG which aims to address food insecurity and hunger in the country. The project aims to strengthen the capacities of Barangays towards sustainable agriculture initiatives. One of which is the intensification of Agricultural activities such as barangay community gardening, wherein households and communities will be encouraged to produce fresh, healthy and affordable fruits and vegetables from their backyards and spaces, through the establishment of community gardens in Barangays with vacant areas.

Assorted vegetable seeds and seedling trays were distributed during the regional launching. Mr. Sonny Boy Ramos of the Enviro Scope Synergy served as the Resource Speaker for the Lecture on Vegetable Production to capacitate the participants/beneficiaries of the said activity.
