Ngayong Araw ng mga Manggagawa, kaisa ang Boy Scouts of the Philippines sa pagkilala at pagpupugay sa bawat manggagawang Pilipino—anumang larangan, anumang tungkulin.

Hindi laging magaan ang laban. May mga araw na mahaba, mabigat, at puno ng pagsubok. May mga sakripisyong tahimik na pinipiling harapin para lamang maitawid ang araw at maitaguyod ang kinabukasan. At sa likod ng lahat ng ito, nananatiling matatag ang manggagawang Pilipino.

Bilang mga Iskawts, isinasabuhay natin ang sipag, malasakit, at pananagutan sa paraang may pakialam at may pagkilala sa tunay na kalagayan ng kapwa. Hindi lang sa pagtulong, kundi sa pagiging mulat, maunawain, at handang makiisa sa pagbuo ng mas makatarungan at makataong komunidad.

The wait is over. Today, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 officially kicks off in the heart of 𝐑𝐨𝐱𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐳.

Led by DepEd Secretary 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐚, this year's opening brought together thousands of young visionaries, performers, and creators from every region across the Philippines.

We also take pride in honoring 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝟏𝟏𝟎 𝐑𝐞𝐝-𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐚 for showing outstanding scout spirit and dedication throughout the opening ceremonies, as well as the Senior Scouts of Capiz Council — the embodiment of service, discipline, and leadership — who stood tall in making this event a success.

𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐀. 𝐑𝐨𝐱𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Today, we remember 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐱𝐚𝐬—the first president of the independent Republic of the Philippines. Born on January 1, 1892, in Capiz (now Roxas City), his journey from a young lawyer to the highest office in the land was marked by brilliance, controversy, and historic achievement.

During World War II, he served under the pro-Japanese government of Jose P. Laurel, securing rice for occupying forces—a decision that later led to collaboration charges. But with the help of his friend, General Douglas MacArthur, Roxas was defended and cleared, allowing him to continue his political ascent.

In 1946, as the nominee of the Liberal wing of the Nacionalista Party (which later became the Liberal Party), he was elected the last president of the Commonwealth. Then, on July 4 of that same year, he made history as the first president of the New Republic of the Philippines.

Tragically, his presidency was cut short. On April 15, 1948, after delivering a passionate speech before the U.S. Thirteenth Air Force at Clark Field, he suffered a fatal heart attack.

In honor of his contributions to Philippine independence, Republic Act No. 9217 declared April 15 as President Manuel A. Roxas Memorial Day. This year, we observe it on the nearest Friday—April 17, 2026—as a special non-working holiday in the Province of Capiz and Roxas City.

Let us take this day to honor his legacy—flawed, courageous, and forever Filipino. 🇵🇭

This 84th commemoration of , the Boy Scouts of the philippines is one in remembering the heroes of Bataan—not just for what they did, but for what they left behind the standard of bravery and love for the country.

The spirit of Scouting is not far from the spirit of excellence—ready for duty, resilient to challenge, and always loyal to the nation.
