SCREEN TIME. Part 1.

Sorry to be party poopers.. but really, while you have absolute control of your baby or toddler’s life, and they are not subject to peer pressure yet, don’t make iPads, tabs or phones a part of their life. So many things fascinate them, let them enjoy the simple beauty and discoveries in life .That means parents have to put away that phone during play and dinner time too , unfortunately. There are several reasons a child might benefit from occupational therapy:

🗣️ Emotional Regulation Issues: Frequent meltdowns and difficulty recovering from them might indicate the need for an OT evaluation.

👕 Self-Care Challenges: This includes essential tasks like bathing, dressing, using utensils, and cutting fingernails.

❤️ Avoidance of Social Interactions: Over-stimulation, too many people, or excessive noise can all impact a child's ability to engage successfully with others.

🍉 Stressful Mealtimes: While some pickiness is common around 18 months, persistent refusal of certain food groups or a limited diet may indicate the need for a feeding therapy evaluation.

💡 Trouble Generating New Ideas and Play Schemes: Motor planning affects the ability to create new play ideas, problem-solve, and adapt to others' ideas.

🤯 Difficulty with Transitions: Struggling with new environments, moving from play to seated tasks, or coping with changes can be challenging.

👉🏽 Fine Motor Skill Difficulties: Fine motor skills are vital for activities like eating, dressing, and playing.

These are just a few of the numerous reasons why a child may need OT but remember that each child is different and has a unique set of needs. If you notice any of these challenges in your child, early intervention can make a significant difference.

Section 12. Inhibition Against the Practice of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.

No person shall practice or offer to practice physical or occupational therapy in the Philippines as defined in this Act without the prescription of a duly registered physician and a valid certificate of registration as a physical therapist or an occupational therapist as the case may be, issued by the Board of Examiners for Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
