My NQESH Journey and Beyond

Transitioning from a classroom teacher to a prospective principal at one of the public schools in Quezon Province has been a significant journey. My preparation encompassed attending review classes, engaging in online studies, and meticulously preparing review materials. I dedicated time almost every day to read through these materials and ensure a comprehensive understanding. Additionally, I watched educational videos on YouTube and benefited from learning resources shared by other school leaders. Despite the complexity of the test, I gave my utmost effort in preparing for it. I am profoundly grateful and honored to be among the successful examinees who passed this challenging examination.

I invite you to join me as I begin my journey as a school leader. Our Division has conducted a ranking to allocate successful candidates to schools where we can contribute effectively. Last month, our documents were verified, and we participated in interviews at our Division. Unfortunately, there are not enough vacant positions to accommodate all the successful teachers. Our superiors emphasized that high rankings alone are insufficient; a positive attitude as a teacher and future school leader is essential. We are currently awaiting the results, which need to be finalized before the election ban. We remain optimistic about a favorable outcome and will graciously accept whatever the Lord provides.

Dear Charo,

I am overjoyed to share that I’ve passed (unexpectedly) the examination for school leaders (NQESH 2024)! This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support and encouragement from my incredible family, my wife ( Jinky Potes and kids.... and friends. Thank you for believing in me and pushing me to aim high. To our dear Principal Ma'am Yoleny Portales, former school heads, DepEd-UINHS and SRCBAI Families, your guidance and dedication have been instrumental in this journey. To my G9-Squad and MTAQ Fam, your collective wisdom and camaraderie have inspired me every step of the way. To my TGIF Fam who has been a part of this milestone, my heartfelt gratitude goes to you. And to my students, this success is not just mine, but ours. To everyone, here’s to future achievements and making a difference together! And above all, maraming salamat po aming Panginoong Hesus na Siyang sandigan natin sa lahat. Sa inyo po ang walang hanggang papuri at pasasalamat.

An Open Letter to Carlos Yulo: (MAKIKISAWSAW ANG LOLO NYO)

Hi Caloy !!! It seems there’s been quite a stir surrounding you and your family. Let’s address this with empathy and understanding.

I write to you as a fan and more as an observer (Marites ) , aware that family dynamics can be complex and emotions run high. Caloy, your achievements in the Olympics have brought so much pride to our country. Your double gold medals are historic, and the Philippine anthem playing in the arena was a moment etched in our hearts and i got goosebumps too. 🇵🇭 (teary-eyed pa nga)

However, it REALLY saddens me to see personal issues overshadowing your triumph. Money matters can strain relationships, (hayyyyy pera nga naman ...i love money!!! charrrr) Balato nemen jen !!! and accusations can wound deeply .

and to ur mother Angelica, (who had just her presscon recently) your tearful apology touched many hearts, and forgiveness is a powerful step toward healing. 🙏

Carlos, you’ve defended your girlfriend, Chloe AND yeah, dapat laang, mahirap maghanap ng singtaas mo... you also expressed forgiveness toward your mother (AT IYAN ANG TAMA).

May safety and well-being be your shared wish. Let’s hope that time will mend these rifts, allowing love and understanding to prevail. Our mother is a mother... no matter what... let's love and respect our parents. They are NOT perfect and they never intend to have a bad relationship with us. Forgiveness is key and dwelling on our past mistakes will only make our relationship bitter. Make our parent a priority and return the favor. Remember the sacrifices they made for us.
