𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | Service, Discipline, and Leadership in Action

The PNU Mindanao ROTC Unit proudly took part in the successful conduct of Flame of Excellence 2026 held on May 21 at Covered Court 1, honoring the university’s March 2026 LEPT passers and topnotchers.

Through teamwork, discipline, and dedication, the ROTC Unit actively contributed to the preparation and restoration of the venue, ensuring that the program area remained organized and presentable before and after the event. ROTC medics were also stationed throughout the activity to provide immediate assistance and ensure the safety and well-being of participants and guests.

During the Torch Parade, the unit rendered crowd control and traffic management, maintaining order and the smooth flow of the celebration. The Colors also proudly stood as a symbol of honor and respect, adding dignity and formality to the ceremony.

The participation of the ROTC Unit reflected the values of service, leadership, cooperation, and commitment in supporting university events and celebrating the achievements of the new generation of licensed teachers.

For the SIKLAB-LAYA Class of 2026 of Philippine Normal University Mindanao Reserve Officers' Training Corps Unit, every training drill, every challenge overcome, and every lesson learned became the foundation of character and courage.

‎"SIKLAB" stands for the burning passion within each cadet—to protect, to serve, and to rise above limitations. "LAYA" represents the freedom we aim to preserve for our nation, earned through discipline and collective effort. We have learned that leadership is not about holding power, but about lifting others up and sharing the responsibility of duty.

‎From the early morning formations to rigorous field activities, every step molded us into officers who value honor, integrity, and solidarity. We do not just wear the uniform; we carry the promise that wherever we go, we will serve with loyalty and stand as guardians of peace.

Prosperidad Agusan del Sur – The Philippine Normal University Mindanao ROTC Unit, through its official media arm, the Digital Squad, presents this edition of “THE ARCH”, documenting the successful conduct of the 1st and 2nd Battalion Formations and team-building activities held as part of the Military Science 1 and Military Science 2 curriculum.

As fundamental elements of ROTC instruction, the battalion formations were designed to develop cadets’ military bearing, proficiency in drill and ceremonies, and comprehensive understanding of organizational structure and command hierarchy. These practical sessions allowed students to apply theoretical concepts learned in the classroom to actual field settings, ensuring mastery of fundamental military standards and operational protocols.

Complementing the training drills, team-building activities were organized to strengthen interpersonal relationships and collective cohesion within the corps. Through structured group tasks and collaborative exercises, participants honed their communication skills, built mutual trust, and cultivated a strong sense of unity—qualities that are vital for establishing a disciplined, coordinated, and effective military unit. These experiences are highlighted in our publication, showcasing how such activities shape the character and capabilities of every cadet.

Beyond technical skill development, these activities served as platforms to instill the core values of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps: discipline, leadership, camaraderie, and public service. The dedication and exemplary conduct displayed by the cadets reflect their commitment to character building and preparation for future service to the nation.

This publication serves as an official record of the unit’s consistent commitment to fulfilling its mandate: to train and develop competent, ethical, and purpose-driven future officers who possess both technical expertise and strong moral character.

While their paths and journeys may have differed, each of them once became part of the organization and contributed their time, effort, and dedication in service to the corps.

In recognition of active participation and commitment during the RSCT/ARAPT Training 2025, the officers of the Philippine Normal University Mindanao ROTC Unit were granted subsidy allowances with the support of the Reserved Command, Philippine Army.

Each participating officer received financial recognition for their dedication, discipline, and commitment throughout the training activities. RSCT trainees received ₱4,000.00 each, while ARAPT trainees received ₱2,000.00 each.

The PNU Mindanao ROTCU extends its sincere gratitude to the 1502nd CDC, 15th RCDG, RESCOM, PA, for it's continuous support, dedicated leadership, and significant contribution to the growth, training, and development of ROTC cadets as future reservists and responsible leaders of the nation.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊|| 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭

The ROTC Unit brought together cadets, officers, and distinguished guests for a memorable evening of elegance and unity during its much-anticipated ROTC Ball. The event served as a celebration of dedication, discipline, and shared achievements within the corps.

The program commenced with a grand entrance of ROTC cadets from Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Headquarters (HQ), SRRU, 2CL, and 1CL, alongside the GMA and Training Staff, setting a formal and spirited tone for the night. This was followed by a doxology and a multimedia presentation highlighting the journey and milestones of the unit throughout the training period.

In his welcome remarks, CDT COL ELGIE JOHN Y HINALOC 1CL ROTC emphasized the importance of unity, leadership, and perseverance among cadets, recognizing their hard work and commitment to service. The celebration continued with intermission numbers from each platoon, showcasing talent, teamwork, and creativity that brought energy and excitement to the event.

As the evening progressed, cadets and officers enjoyed dinner before one of the highlights of the night, the presentation of Best Dressed Male and Female Cadets/Officers, where participants confidently displayed elegance, bearing, and personality.

The giving of awards followed, honoring outstanding individuals who demonstrated excellence, discipline, and commitment throughout the ROTC program.

The program formally concluded with closing remarks delivered by Pfc John Benjamin M Paler (Inf) PA, inspiring cadets to carry forward the values they have learned. The night ended on a patriotic note with the mass singing of “Pilipinas Kong Mahal,” leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and dedication to service.
