PECIA since 2013 has worked quietly in the background to save our industry from moves to ban va**ng and misinform the public about va**ng.

We spearheaded self regulation among all industry players to protect the consumers and the general public while waiting for regulations.

We succesfully blocked ban attempts of the FDA in 2013 - submitting 4,000 pages of research. Have continously blocked several attempts in the past and until now.

The non-inclusion of va**ng in the President’s EO-26 was helped in no small part because of our recommendation to allow more studies to come in before making a decision to include it or not.

We attend hearings to protect va**ng in cities and municipalities all over the country. Succesfully represented and lobbied for the fair regulation ordinances in Antipolo city, Quezon city, Pasay city, Bacolod city to mention a few, many more are pending in the hearing stages.

Attended all stakeholders hearings and meetings at the Congress and the Senate, DOH and DTI, submitted voluminous letters and studies to back up our claims and to protect va**ng from proposed regulation bills that would unfairly regulate va**ng in the country. This is still an ongoing process.

Succesfully got the support of lawmakers to bring down the proposals at the Senate to have v***r products taxed as high as P45/10ml per eliquid or 1 refill pod of closed pod sytems or 1 pack of HTPs, Now its at P10/10ml or pod. There are again proposals to increase it but we will be there to explain why they should not be taxed the same as to***co smoking.

The DOH AO 2019-0007 as written is designed to kill the industry. Members on their own have filed cases pending with the courts to contest the validity of AO 2019-0007 because we feel that it unfairly and unjustly regulates va**ng and rights are being violated.

For people who don’t know, all these are being done for the good of everyone in the industry and the general public, We have survived because of our and the communities collective efforts.
