𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | Psychology students reach milestone in the first-ever BS Psych Qualifying Exam

A total of 33 incoming 3rd year ‎Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BS Psych) students gathered to take part in the Day 1 of the first ever two-day computer-based Psychology Qualifying Exam, held at the campusʼ computer laboratory, June 3.

With the goal of completing the examinations across eight subjects, the event was designed to measure competence and readiness for advancement.
‎
‎The successful conduct of the exam highlighted both the students’ determination and the university’s move toward modernized evaluation.
‎
Meanwhile, the day 2 examination composing of another four subjects will be held on June 4.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | CSS student leaders attend KAMALAYAN III leadership conference in Cainta

Building tomorrow's leaders and shaping the nation today, the College of Social Sciences (CSS) student leaders attended the leadership conference KAMALAYAN III: Makialam, Makilahok, Magtagumpay — Atin ang Bukas!, held at the One Cainta Auditorium on Wednesday, May 27.

Representing the college, the student delegation was composed of Raign Derick Saldi, Leomina Magat, Ann Mary Novabos, Ace York Matienzo, Merly Montañez, and Shaina Tirados from the BS Psychology program; Dennise Clavejo, Sheirmaine Wesley Sasaluya, Mayza Castalone, Fritz Devohn Alamag, Johnre Miraflor, Adrian Oliver Pagarao, and Ramil Joseph Ramirez from AB Political Science; Jeric Afroilan, Gelim-Al Maribojoc, Ralgelle Babacyao, Kim Zyrene Zamora, and Gian Arvin Lorenz Repia from Bachelor of Public Administration; and Dharly Lacaba from AB English Language Studies.

The conference gathered student leaders, barangay officials, and LGU representatives from Rizal and nearby provinces, fostering a space for collaboration, awareness, and active participation in nation-building.

A stellar lineup of speakers and changemakers featured at the event included Mr. Justin Altubar of GoodGovPH, Mr. Aaron Suguitan, Mr. Robert “Ka Dodoy” Ballon, Ms. Angelica Nasiron, and Mr. Jilmani Nasiron of Sambilog Balik Bagsuk Movement, Sarah Elago, Representative of Gabriela Women’s Party, and Atty. Diego Luis Santiago of DepDev, Benjie Magalong, Mayor of Baguio City, as well as Sangguniang Kabataan Secretary of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, Ricardo Vidal.

Spearheaded by Angat Taytay, the conference emphasized the power of youth voices, good governance, and collective action in shaping a better tomorrow.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Six CSS exam takers passed the March '26 CSE Pen and Paper examination

Six College of Social Sciences (CSS) students: 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐨, 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐳 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠, 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐬, 𝐀𝐜𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐨, and 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐄𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐚 have successfully passed the March 2026 Career Service Examination–Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) at the Professional Level.

CSC on Tuesday, May 5, reported that only 48,735 out of 307,489 examinees hurdled the test, reflecting a passing rate of just 15.85% nationwide.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | CSS-SC's Project BEAT, Synchronizes the Rhythm of Student Life and Success

Embracing the ethos of the theme, “Hawak Natin ang Beat: Every Feat Counts, Every Future Matters,” the College of Social Sciences – Student Council (CSS-SC) sprearheaded Project BEAT: Building Every Achievement Towards the Future” today, April 24, via Google Meet and Facebook Live.

The webinar brought together graduating students and alumna to facilitate a meaningful dialogue, aiming to illuminate the often-challenging realities of campus life while equipping attendees with the resilience necessary for the path ahead.

​Graduating student-leaders from the BS Psychology program, Cristina Dela Rosa and Ace York Matienzo, opened the discussion by urging their peers to courageously acknowledge their personal struggles, manage academic pressure effectively, and actively advocate for mental health awareness.

“We can't be perfect because no one in this world is perfect, we all have our imperfections. What matters most is your progress—the small steps you have achieved along the way,” Dela Rosa emphasized.

Meanwhile, ​providing a broader perspective to close the session, AB English Language Studies alumna Stephanie Almeñe delved into the profound process of self-discovery, encouraging participants to find their own space and reclaim the true meaning of success beyond traditional metrics.

“Success doesn’t always look like applause; sometimes, it looks like peace. Sometimes, success is simply choosing not to carry the weight anymore,” Almeñe shared.
