As a remote hire specialist, I’ve worked with, applied for, and been part of multiple VA staffing agencies—hundreds of them, so I’ve seen it all—the good, the bad, and the improvements needed.

It took me nearly a year to perfect the strategies, and I still update it regularly to ensure it stays ahead, especially with the rise of AI innovations and challenges.

There’s a heated debate happening within the freelance community in the Philippines right now, and it’s one that needs attention. Many influencers—whether they’re podcasters, business owners, or agencies—are using their platforms to promote Filipino talent at rock-bottom rates.

Let’s be clear: Filipino freelancers are highly skilled professionals who bring immense value to the table. Reducing their worth to “pennies” not only undermines their expertise but also perpetuates a damaging cycle of undervaluation in the global market.

The real conversation we need to be having is about fair compensation for the skills and hard work that VAs and freelancers provide. Businesses can certainly benefit from outsourcing, but not at the expense of exploiting talent.

It’s time to shift the narrative from seeking the cheapest talent to recognizing and investing in the best talent. Fair pay leads to higher-quality work, long-term partnerships, and ultimately, better business results.

Let’s support and uplift the freelance community by acknowledging the value of their work and compensating them fairly.

No client has the right to say... "oh trust me, that's how they lived" this is outright offensive.
