Not every important moment happens in front of the camera. Some happen beside it, some happen while everyone is looking somewhere else, and some only reveal their significance years later. Here are a few things I’ve learned from photographing weddings on film.

Met Joshua and Nela in Japan last year when they booked me for a prenup shoot in Kyoto, and ever since we have been friends. They brought us to their favorite restaurants and everything was so good. I also shot their wedding last month in the Philippines, and luckily we were all in Japan again at the same time, just as the cherry blossoms were starting to bloom. After the shoot, we went to a local tonkatsu place, honestly the best way to end the day. 🤩
